DDU Help upgrading my gpu

Hey Folks so im waiting on receiving my rtx 3080 ti which i got for a steal and i currently have a 2070 Super is it advised to still using Display Driver Uninstaller and start fresh even though im not switching brands ive used it in the past but was from an AMD card to an Nvidia one any advice is greatly appreciated?

You don't need to if sticking with Nvidia.

You don't need to at all ever tbh. Certainly don't bother using DDU unless you have actual issues. It can cause more issues than it solves. Even when changing between NV and AMD I just took the old card out, plugged the new one in, installed the drivers and away I went. Didn't even uninstall the original drivers. The device isn't there anymore, the drivers being installed is sort of immaterial as far as I'm concerned.

My current system has had 5 different model Nvidia GPUs in. Never used DDU.

Yep DDU is for whennyour having a problem.

I'd just select custom options when installing the latest Nvidia driver and tick the check box to perform a clean install.

Glad I searched for this as I’m going to change GPU’s tomorrow so I’ll give DDU the swerve unless I get any problems.
