Afternoon guys,

So i have the old mk5 fiesta and seen a couple with the orange bit removed from headlights... I'm looking to do this on mine.

Not to look pimp or rude boii or chavvy, simply because I think it'd look cleaner.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience on doing this sorta thing?

yeah i read about changing bulbs, how did you do yours?

Did you heat up the glue and take the front off, or smash the orange bit inside?

Heat the edge of the glass up and remove the 4 clips holding the glass secure and it will come apart with a bit of effort, Then you can smash the orange bit out or take the indicator bulb holder out and 3 clips to remove the orange part.
 
What my main concern is, is how well the glue holds back into place when you put the front back on? Knowing my luck, the front will fall of when i'm driving :D. Local scrappy has lots of fiesta lights if i need to replace though
 
Hi there,

I really wanted to do this for my old one but its a long process and in my opinion is not worth it. It looks cleaner but its still a fiesta lol.
 
Just heat it back up and make sure there is no debris in the channel where the lens meets the housing and it will go back together and seal mine have had no leaks or misting up since I have done mine, And don't forget the clips. :o
 
I did it a few days ago on my MK6 Fiesta ST. I didn't bother splitting them, I just smashed the orange lens inside the unit and pulled the bits out the bottom. Fit some Silvatec bulbs...bosh. Done

Pop the orange cap off with my finger and then cut it up with a pair of pliers and pulled out the shards.

Reminds me off my old ST. Black and orange looked so good, really wish I didn't sell it.
 
hmm, anyone done this on mk5 headlights, looks messy splitting glue with heat gun i just tried. might have to leave it :(
