Hi all, so I have an Inno3D GTX 1080ti FE which has completely died on me. By completely died I mean when the machine is powered on there are absolutely no signs of life from the card whatsoever, no lights, no fans, nothing. Does anyone have any ideas how to troubleshoot/attempt a fix for this?

Unfortunately for me I bought this card off a well known auction site in December so I have no idea where it was originally purchased & no receipt or anything for an RMA. I should state the card has been totally fine until this! Does anyone know whether Inno3D would RMA it given it is definitely less than a year old? Or how I might kick that off? I've sent them a support request using their website form but I don't hold out high hopes.

I suspose I need to wait a couple of weeks in case they do respond, but if they don't what's the latest in tricks to maybe get it working again? Shove it in the oven for a bit, that kinda stuff. If I hear nothing in a couple of weeks I'll take the cooler off to investigate, but I'm reluctant to break any warranty protection stickers until I know I definitely can't RMA.

Any help or advice appreciated! Thanks.
 
Yeah that sounds a sensible way to go, but it does require them to respond at all first! I think the most likely outcome is they'll just never respond tbh, & then what!
 
So there's been a development! Inno3D replied to my support request this morning, I'm actually quite impressed with them for that! Unfortunately, after some back & forth to get them the right serial number they were after...they said that number doesn't exist in their system?!

So a couple of things:
Firstly, I don't think the card can be a "fake", it might not be in their system because it wasn't sold through a normal retail channel originally or something like that (see the next point). My last response asked them to confirm whether "not in their system" means the card is a fake card, waiting to hear back on that.
Secondly, the eBay seller isn't a retail channel, just a private seller who said his stock of cards are from things like ex-trade stock. This means no original purchase receipt. I'm not sure what to make of this, does it affect anything? Obviously it means they can't give me a proof of purchase & can't return the card themselves, but I'm not sure what that means for my rights. Their source wasn't stated in the original ad btw.
Thirdly, if Inno3D are saying it's not on their system, can I/should I go back to the seller & demand a refund, or perhaps complain to eBay saying it was falsely advertised?
Lastly, does the PayPal 180 day thing cover private seller items? That sounds abit too good to be true!

So yeah, not entirely sure what to do next tbh. I'm reluctant to screw over the seller if they've not done anything wrong, but equally if they have done something wrong I obviously want to do everything to get them banned & get my money back!

What's people's thoughts on next steps?

Well tell your private seller you want to return the card and get a full refund, if seller refused then report it to ebay for falsely advertised and get full refund back or you can open paypal dispute resolution to demand full refund back.

Good advice, I think those things in that order is how to deal with this. So I've just contacted the seller stating I want to return the card for a refund since Inno3D themselves have said it's not one of their products. I'm not expecting a happy response but we'll see! Looking at their profile it seems as though they're trading under a business name, which I think gives me even better rights? They also have a bunch of listings up for used tape for £20...this looks really suspicious to me, maybe a feedback boosting scam?

When he's replied before he seemed fairly normal, though it's hard to know via messages of course. Oh well, let's see where this goes!

Even if I do get a refund from this guy that only gives me £650, you can't even buy a second hand 1080ti anywhere for that so that's a bummer!
