I gave my brother my old XFX 8800GTS 640

This was a solid card for three years in my PC, never gave me any issues and was never over clocked.

It was working fine in my brothers PC then yesterday it refused to display an image and the PC beeps

I'll mention anything relevant below, any ideas?

When the card is swapped the PC displays an image
The fan spins on the 8800GTS but no image
The PSU is using a molex to PCI-E adaptor
The card has been reseated

It's not uncommon for 8000 series cards to kick the bucket and die and from what you have described it sounds like it needs to be replaced. I take it you have heard of the oven trick? You might want to give that a try before forking out money on a new card.

I wouldnt be suprised if its the PSU, have seen it happen few time before, PSU starts to fail or just not powerful enough, it kicks the fans in etc... but not enough to bring the system to life. Got a spare to try?

I would like to try a different PSU first as I think you may be right the thought had previously crossed my mind, after that I'll attempt to bake it, after that its in the bin I reckon.

Thanks
