I bought a 9800GT XFX from OCUK the other day to replace a 8800GT thats been playing up.
Cleaned out the old drivers with driver sweeper and installed the new ones for the 9800 and rebooted but XPx64 just hangs at the windows loading screen.
Tried various different drivers from nvidia/XFX and even omega drivers all with the same outcome.
Windows boots up fine in safemode with the bog standard drivers.
Swapped out the 9800 for my old 8800GT with the new drivers and it boots just fine.
MB drivers are up to date and i've tried a clean install with the same problem

Athlon 3gb x64

corsair 2gb ddr2 xms
