Wondering if anyone has any ideas?

I recently rebuilt a pc from parts i had prior upgrade, Everything works fine!

Then Last night i went to turn it on and it would only power up for around 5ish seconds. Many tries later same thing.

Now it wont even power on at all, no fan movement, no anything

So i tried puting in another cpu to test if the mobo or cpu had fried but to my suprise everything worked perfectly, Put the newer (faster) cpu back in and nothing

I then thought well the cpu must be fried, tried it in another mobo and it works fine!!! put it back in the new mobo, Dead!

I cant work it out:
> Both CPU and MOBO been working fine for around a year together
> CPU works in another Mobo

I even took the cpu out of the mobo and the mobo still powers on, Its as if the cpu is stopping power to the whole motherboard!

Specs: Socket A AMD XP 2800+
Asrock K7S8X MOBO

Socket A AMD 800Mhz (Test CPU)
EPOX EP-8KTA MOBO (Test Mobo)

Sounds to me a power supply problem try swapping it with another if you can.
I’ve had this same problem wont buy cheap PSU anymore.
Hope that helps?

Gunna forcefully turn it on by shorting out PS_ON and GND for the 20 Pin ATX connector, What ae the chances it will go bang?

Quite Worried!
