I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of what could've gone wrong with this 7950?
RMA would be a pain for a variety of reasons that I cba to go into and I wrote it off a good while ago. I just have a sudden curious urge to see what people think would be the issue :)

Anyway, take a look at this crappy vid and have at it.

Faulty vram, faulty memory controller, screwed solder contact on the actual GPU core.

Mind you saying that it could also be failed components, but I would imagine it's one of the three above really.

Had a similar issue with my 6970 Lightning a week after I bought it..

Yeah, it's probably one of them :D
I did do a LOT of fiddling with an aftermarket cooler on that card tbh. Thing is, it was working fine and had been in and out of the machine many times. One day, I took it out to adjust a fan and when I put it back, it did this.
Game over man...

i had this exact problem with an old card of mine! the only solution i found was the bin unfortunately

Yeah, it's been sitting in it's box for months. I gave up hope a long time ago :D

I have considered that actually. It's a pristine looking Sapphire Dual-X on a 7970 pcb (whatever that's worth, considering it's buggered), fully boxed etc.
Can't believe people pay that much for broken cards. Might have to give it a bash:D
