I bought an i7-860 second hand of a certain auction site, and it appears to be a dud, I have been able to test everything with another set-up and its definitely the chip not working. when testing it just pulses on then off again. are there any tricks i could try to get it working again??
 
Apart from the Bios i dont think there is much you can do mate :( Get a mail sent to the seller and then paypal. If it says its tested and working you should be ok.
 
The one thing about certain auction site is they always side with the buyer. No matter what paypal will refund you once you send the chip back recorded post to the seller.

Sorry to hear its dud though :(
 
Who was the seller on the auction site? Don't post a link as this isn't allowed.

Can you post a photograph of the rear of the processor?
