Interesting read.

I used to love the mx500 and now I can seen why reading that article on malfuction speed and perfect control. The mx500 beats the lot.

After breaking 3 mx500 (USB cable always seems to break just where it enters top of mouse -causing the mouse to switch on/off - also had this fault on the MX518 which I think which is why they made the G5 cable braided.) I switched to the 518 (couldnt find MX500 anywhere!) although its a great mouse (been though 2 of them) I missed my old MX500. (looking at article with rate at 1000 there is no orange bits on the graph at all)

Im currently on g5 at the moment and I would gladly swap it for a MX500 if I could find where to get one.

If i was feeling brave and lucky to actually find one I would buy the MX500 gut the cord out of the G5 and put it on the MX500 and hopefully it would never ever break.

Been a Logitech owner for a few years now. Great build quality, but there's always one tiny thing that annoys me about them.

The MX510 used to get 'jammed' buttons if any dirt went down the button edge.
The MX518 had a smooth scrollwheel, which lacked grip, but otherwise my favourite mouse.
The G5 was very responsive, but they stupidly made the scrollwheel have a left/right 'feature' which made it almost impossible to get a proper 'middle click' - nightmare for firefox tabbed browsing. Also, the scrollwheel on 2 of them broke after a while, and it was inconsistent.

In my view, I given up caring about accuracy too much. Most of these optical and lazer mice and fine enough for most games, unless you're really hardcore and play fast reaction games 3+ hours a day. I'm more interested in a comfortable shape and no gimmicks.

Having tried some out in a shop, my next mouse will probably be a Microsoft Habu. Just felt smooth and fitted my hand perfectly.

i find that g5 and mx518 are big and fills your all hand not like razers witch are smaller and u move them with your fingers i'll say i go for DA.


and hopefully get rma on my coperhead

You have girls hands... can you even reach both ctrl keys with one hand?

I had an MX510 for ages and upgraded to a G5. I highly recommend one of the Logitech mice in the 510 shape.
