Ok having major problems. (how do u know if a cpu is faulty ?)

turned pc on last week and bios loaded then when it got to loading vista nothing happened, reboots moving memory around didnt solve it , managed to reinstall vista which took abnormally long.
4-5 days later i get in from work same problem wont load os and this time cant even re-install os, boot in safe etc.

Tested harddrive round a m8's which is fine, ordered new mobo got some new faster ram as its so cheap at the mo, rebuilt system all's fine till i get in from town today same problem.

Bios is'nt even loading up fully now it stops halfway, tried different ram & resetting the cmos .

Only components it could be are the psu or cpu i think , got no idea what happens if a cpu is faulty tho:confused:

Well i suppose all you can do is keep testing. Its not that common that the CPU is the thing to die though, can you test the PSU of a different computer ? If you manage to get into bios you may want to re-set it to stock settings too, see if its just an overclock problem somehow.
