Dell 20.1" widescreen (16:9) 2005fpw. The LCD has multicolors and blank bits over a certain area. The rest of the LCD works completely. Any ideas whats up with it or how i can get it fixed or how much it'll cost me
could still be under warrenty give dell a call and quote the serial on the backDrazic said:Bought it 2nd hand
pass on after that, but most dells come with a 3 year warrenty and i think the 2005 model is less than 3 years old so you should be okDrazic said:Ah right, sweet! I'll give them a bell on Monday. If it'snot and all that then what?

you could be in luck!!!
ps you don't need a recipt

Jay662 said:What you will have to do is get the order number for the monitor, or give dell the serial number at the back.
You will also need to confirm the name/company who bought it. Looking at those pictures I would say there has been impact damage which would void the warranty. I recommend telling them there is no power at all to the monitor![]()
Drazic said:Umm so you think they just swap them over thats it?
Yeah it had fallen of the desk as my kid ran into the desk! Little sod!
I found a place online that quote £89 for a screen this size repair.
I duno what to do, i know what LCD i need for it
Jay662 said:It will be a courier that comes next business day to swap over the screens, don't worry about them testing the monitor.
Drazic said:Ah right, hot swap on site then? Mint, so a totaly brand new all boxed the lot one.
Just call Dell say it's not powering on, and yeah.
Can i ask how you know this?
Guess the crack can be blamed on the courier then!
