Hey all.
In Sept this TV arrived:
https://www.techradar.com/uk/reviews/panasonic-hx940-tv

A fly (~6mm across) has appeared behind the screen, along with a load of dead pixels (around 50) around it.

Panasonic are sending me a man via a third party to assess the situation, but the third party has said it is not looking favourable for a warranty claim.

I'm not best pleased - This cost me nearly £1200. No idea how the fly got in there since I though the panel was sealed. The fly is well and truly stuck between the front plastic and the panel itself.

I wondered if others on here have had a similar thing happen?

I have a small monitor that has a thunderfly/bug that's crawled between the diffuser layer and the front. I thought it was a dead pixel at first, but a magnifier revealedd it has legs. I'd have to strip the screen layers to get to it.

I've managed to remove dead thunder flies using a hoover and blocking various vents to help suction direction

Nice work - although I think all TV's will have one passage the atmosphere one way or another to allow for ventilation. No real way of avoiding that

I was horrified to see a thunder fly crawl across my old screen not long after buying it. I put on a black background and spent 30 mins coaxing him back to the edge following the mouse cursor before he died under there. Was so relieved when it actually worked ☺️

Always buy from John Lewis and buy accidental damage cover.

Other than that I would hope 50 dead pixels is a warranty claim. Are they saying the fly killed the pixels? If so then why are they making TV's that fly's can easily gain access to?
