In short my 8800GTS 320mb has gone on the blink. Its an EVGA card and is 10 months old so still under warranty. Obviously I'd like to get the card replaced, however I have some concerns/questions:

  1. The card was overclocked, will they know this and will it void my warranty?
  2. Whats my next course of action, i'm assumuing I contact EVGA and sort out an RMA?
  3. After reading the EVGA website its says I need the original receipt. I haven't found it yet but I have managed to print another receipt from Google Checkout, will this be OK?
  4. Has anyone dealt with EVGA before in these circumstances and how quick were they in dealing with it?

Unless you've flashed the bios or carried out a vmod on the card then no they can't tell if you've overclocked

I'd contact evga but more than likely they'll tell you to contact the card vendors e.g ocuk and arrange an rma through them

mmm receipt if it has your shipping details etc then it should suffice, by the letter of the law they could refuse to handle it as it is not the original receipt but very rare this happens

I've never dealt with evga myself but like most companies it depends on who you talk to regarding reputation etc. I know a lot of folk slate xfx but I've never had an issue either with the hardware nor the support.

best of luck and with any luck you should get back something decent, don't accept anything less than another G80/G92 cored card

Well i'll contact them today and go from there. I hope it doesn't take too long. Sad thing is I just got my new monitor the other day (w2207h) and I haven't even had a chance to test it out :(

if it is less than 12 months old surely the retailer should be dealing with it?
im not certain of the exact procedure

Hmm... ok i'll contact the retailer first. But i'd of thought after 10 months they wouldn't want to know

EDIT

Taken from retailers site:

Items Faulty in Warranty Period

If any of your purchases develop a fault, and it's more than 28 calendar days since receipt, then provided your item is within its warranty period, you are entitled to a warranty repair. In some cases, manufacturers provide a specialist full on-site service and/or telephone help facilities for your convenience which we recommend you use in order to correct the fault quickly.

Guess that means I'm contacting EVGA then !
