Hey all

Yesterday I had a windows update at about 3am, I decided to turn off my computer as I was going to bed instead of restarting it. When I turned it back on in the morning I was greeted with nothing but a black screen (no POST, no nothing). I tried a lot of things...
I changed the RAM over, and tried different ammounts
I tried different PCI-E ports for my graphics card
I tried different ports on my GPU
I reset the CMOS and removed n replaced the BIOS battery

As a last resort I asked a friend over to try different compenonets in his rig.
First thing we tried was GPUs....and lo-and-behold..using his I was greeted with the familiar POST screen and it began to try and boot.

My card is a GTX 295 the card we tried was a 8800GT. The reason I'm confused is that all the fans on my 295 and even the status light on it are running and not showing errors.

Is there anything I can do? Or is my 295 dead? It is 27 months old.....hopefully be able to get it on warrenty............

Will hopefully be able to try it in his today too, we didn't have the right leads last night.

Gonna try and have the 8800gt as the primary card with the gtx295 as the secondary and see if windows will recognise it

will let you know how it goes....hope it's fixable
