I've got a Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 XT card in my current system that I think has had its day, quicker than I'd expected as it's not that old really.
It idles at a temp of around 88 degrees but once i try to start gaming it goes up to 110 degrees almost instantly (at stock clocks and 100% fan speed) triggering ATI to turn down the clocks and make the computer beep annoyingly.
Nothing else in my system has changed recently and nil else is overheating. I've removed all dust and the stock fan on the graphics card appears to be working and has minmal dust. ATI tool says the GPU temp is 88 idle and the GPU environment (whatever that means?) is 62.
Is my card screwed? Do I need to buy a new one?
