Dead graphics card

Was playing a game, suddenly the screen goes black and the GPU fans ramp up to 100%. Signal LED on the monitor starts flashing showing there is no signal :(

Tried other PCI-E slot
Removed Cooler and re-applied thermal paste

When I plug my 780 in all I get is black screen and GPU fans sounding like a hoover :(
The card was always below 65c (custom fan profile) so I'm not sure why it suddenly died :(

I am currently using an old 8800 GS so I can use my PC :(
My monitor only has a Dual DVI input (2560x1440) so I can't use the HDMI socket on my motherboard, so no HD 4600 that my 4790 has built in :(

Anyone know how long MSI take with their RMA process?
Card is 13 months old

They'll probably say that it'll take around 30 days but will probably only take 1 - 2 weeks. One of my brother's 290's did that, it was an XFX card though. Upon returning it, it turned out the actual chip itself had died. Probably just bad luck if you get a bad chip. Most chips should last at least a couple of years, most will last longer or something other than the core will die.

You've been around long enough but if you don't know unless the warranty allows it don't tell the company you RMA with that you reapplied the TIM, they get real ar**y about that.

I had to RMA both my 270x's, and the tim was changed (Terrible temps before hand!) and they never said anything. Bear in mind this was with Gigabyte, actually I got two brand new ones! :D
