Hello all,
Basicallu I know very little about iPods so I was hoping for some pointers on this one I'm having a look at for a friend.
Basically iTunes cannot communicate with the iPod preseting the message: iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod "iPod"
So far I've
Reset the device
Restored it to factory defaults
Initialized it in Disk Mode but the computer wouldn't scan the disk or eve recognise it's existence. It showed up as a drive in "My Computer" but I couldn't interact with it at all.
Initialized it in Diagnostics mode in an attempt to run a diagnostic on the hard drive but was only presented with two options, HDDspecs and HDDsmart neither of which told me if there was anything wrong or not with the drive.
Something else that has me thinking the drive is borked is the fact that when the iPod is starting up it makes several loud clicks. Now, I'm not sure if this is normal for an iPod or not but if my hard drive started making noises like this I'd be backing up in a hurry.
Any help getting this iPod talking with iTunes would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Antar Bolaeisk.
