Dead Ipod shuffle

Was out running the other day listening to my Ipod when it suddenly stopped, I pressed play and it started again for a few seconds and then stopped again, I wasn't far from home so I left it turned off and docked it with my PC when I got home.
The PC no longer recognises the device, its not in device manager or Itunes.

Any ideas or is it time for the bin?

If it's older than a year then it's probably bin time as I don't think there's much you can do to repair by yourself but if it's less than that then take it into a store and get it replaced.

Have to agree, If it's faulty and under warranty you will get a friendly smile and a replacement at the genius bar.

Well its just started working again, I didn't do anything, was suddenly detected by windows. I took the oppurtunity to reinstall its software whilst it was detected. Seems to be fine now.
