Ok im getting fed up with this, radeon pro is not even making some of these games playable, i dunno how people can defend AMD drivers when they clearly are not working good on some games :\

Dead Island is 60 fps but choppy as hell and really NOT smooth, i dunno if this is the game or AMD but ive been in a few games and its the same kinda thing with the 7970, while my mates 660 which i sold him runs the games much better :\

Well i remember watching my bro on DI 1 on a 580 and it ran perfect.

This game has so many problems it seems :\ I googled it and theres like 20!

What a pain in the ass! Just wasted 18 quid on this pile of crap lol!

My mate has it on his 680 though and says his is fine :\

Ive tweaked radeon pro which has made it a tiny bit better but overall i cant sit and play this its just too choppy, 60 fps??? My ass its as if its like 16-25 fps lol.

Dead Island was a PC game on release, it improved but it was still rather terrible even after patches. I wouldn't expect Riptide to be any better. :x

I just downloaded the riptide helper, makes it much better but still when moving u can see the stuttering its such a shame!

What a waste of money! How do companies get away with releasing crap like this?

Still i bet its half AMDs fault too, the witcher 2 runs like crap and so does torchlight 2! Radeon pro helps but ffs when they gonna fix these crappy drivers?

The engine has issues with repeated keystrokes. Google 'Dead Island Helper' and make sure you get the one for Riptide, everything you need is in there.

Seriously I have no idea how some people have problems with amd cards/drivers.

Last Nvidia card I bought was a 9600gt, every ATI ard since then has given me no problem what so ever.

The three games mentioned above run sweet as anything on my system without tweaking anything.

All the games you say you have issues with.. Work perfectly fine on my 7970.

I think its user error here ;)

Try fixing your PC before hateing on amd

it should be :- `` my 7970 is running fine, but Riptide is a boring crap Zombie game``, because that that makes sense doesn't it

You need to look closer to home because Dead Island and all the other games you mentioned run/ran fine for me. Didnt play DI for long but played the heck out of W2 and T2 with no problems. Haters gonna hate it seems.:)

7970 user here

Tbh it has to be just the game not really AMD this time ;) Ive switched to a gamepad and with the DI Riptide helper it seems WAY better i played 4 hours today with my mate and it was really good fun, does get a bit boring later on specially as the loot is kinda crap and the zombies are the same old everytime :\ But yeah its playable and i will not blame AMD for this.

And i bought the 7970 over the 680 because only an idiot would choose a 680 to a 7970 tbh lol, the spec is way better and it had a few free games with it too! I got the card in a prebuild, wasnt very happy before the DX9 bug was fixed and was going to swap it out for a 680 but i waited and it seems AMD delivered with the fix and no more black lines on DX9 games.

The main grumble i have is i still have to use Radeon Pro to fix frame skipping.

Anyone who wants to try this who has Torchlight 2, run it without Radeon Pro and walk in a straight line up the map and up stairs, you will see straight away the stuttering, now with Radeon Pro the game is ultra smooth!

Skyrim is another game, move your mouse in a circle and notice without Radeon Pro this is not a smooth circle, switch on Radeon Pro the game is totally smooth.

Its just something they have to work on, If i was to choose now i think id get a 780 or 770 though, the 770 with the new memory is really nice.

But then who knows id probably have problems in other games i never with the 7970 lol, but yeah they can fix these stuttering issues, if Radeon Pro can AMD CAN! i dunno why they dont implement this into the drivers :\

Again i dont care whats inside my PC aslong as it works like it should, people who love their 7970s so much they just refuse to see the errors good on you :) The bugs are there its nothing to do with me or my PC. To prove this Radeon Pro fixes these bugs 9/10 if it was my PC they would remain broken :\

Anyways i like AMD but i also like Nvidia, i hate Nvidias prices but like how they are smoother without 3rd party help, i like AMD for value they just need to work on drivers a bit more, im not saying they are terrible or anything as the games are still playable and people like half of you and people like my dad would just get on with it and not notice it, but there IS frame skipping going on in some games or frame latency what ever you wanna call it, its not 100% smooth as it should be!

I had a 660 in a Q9450 before i got this PC and the above games ran perfectly smooth, i tried a 7850 (3 to be precise!) before i had the 660 and skyrim was a total mess on it.

I have had no problems with my 7970 with either of the Dead Island games or Skyrim, just Champ manager 3 which has no chance of running on PC's nowadays.
