Most people are saying its L4D meets dead rising, and after watching the 20 min game play I'm kinda leaning towards thinking it too.

well it does to an extent, doubt there will be too much freedom since its multi format. id imagine it'll be get from A to B with a lot of smaking zombies with various objects
 
Watching the interview on E3 it said it has some RPG elements and the co-op is very similar to Borderlands. You can level up and upgrade weapons, you play multiple characters and you have to be high enough level to survive on parts of the island (like Borderlands).

Game style is as others have said L4D meets Dead Rising.

I think it looks pretty good and the graphics don't look half bad.
 
It does look like it has potential going by that gameplay footage.

Depends really if theres enough variety. Doesn't look anything like Dead Rising which can only be a good thing. The driving... I'm skeptical.
 
yes but what is the point of the agme i mean.

is it a series of missions or a sort of survive as long as you can.
 
True, that doesn't seem clear at all...

The wiki just says 'centred on the challenge of survival' and that it has a skill tree.

And also:

Although there is a child being "infected" in the original "Dead Island" trailer, it has been stated that there will be no children zombies in the game. The developers feel that the lack of children adds an element of reality, showing that they "just didn't make it."[8]

To be honest, from the gameplay videos, it kind of looks like a first-person Just Cause, or GTA. Or even an open-world-style Borderlands.
