well one of the two gave up on me 2 day

ballistix pc2-6400 2gb
asus striker extreme

started not posting the kept cutting out and rebooting its self then bsod so i thought bugger it buy new ram and mobo

asus p5k and corsair xms2

any ways of checking it i have no warenty as was bought of a well known auction site

and i dont want to put in my new system just incase it dies :(

So you want to see if the problem is caused by the ram or mobo but you dont want to risk putting either into your new system? You could try asking it?

Seriously, try putting the ram into your new system. If the ram is duff it won't damage anything,it'll just reproduce the faults you've already experienced. If the ram works then it's obviously the mobo.

Have you tried installing one stick of RAM in your current mothboard and running mem test to check for any errors.

im giving up on it just gunna put it away in a box lol got my new system running thats all i care about now knowing my luck there both dead

And if it's crucial then providing the sticker on the ram is intact, you have a lifetime warranty anyway. So yeah, second in line for that ram ;) :D

think the ram is ok though just had a game with it and seems good if i was on members market i would sell cheap :) gotta wait till end of oct

can i use all 4 new have timings of 5-5-5-12 and ballistix is 4-4-4-12 or cant they run 2gether

they can, but they'll have to run at the slowest timings.

you might need to raise the voltage on the northbridge to use all four sticks.
