I just finished building my new rig and come the magic moment flip the power switch and ... nothing :( checked all the connections and double checked them and still nadda. So next i pulled out my current rig and tried the new power supply on my old comp to check it, motherboard light came on fine so then i tried my old PSU on the new mobo and nothing, no little green led :( any suggestions or should i start writing my email requesting an RMA??

the new comps specs are

Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe Crossfire (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-131-AS)

CP-127-AM AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ (Socket 939) - Retail (ADA4400CDBOX) (CP-127-AM)

CD-030-NE NEC ND4570 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM (CD-030-NE)

SC-039-CL Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Sound Card - Retail (SC-039-CL)

CA-010-TT Thermaltake VA3000BWA Tsunami Dream SuperMidi Aluminium Tower - Black (CA-010-TT)

CA-024-TT Thermaltake PurePower 560W Silent Power Supply (W0023R) (CA-024-TT)

Check the power cable at the back of the PSU.

Clear CMOS

Try 1 stick of ram

Double check all connections again.

Check power switch connection

I tried the CMOS but nothing, also tried removing a stick of ram, but i think the problem is that the motherboard doesnt seem to be getting any power, the little green LED that usually comes on when you have it plugged in and the power switch at the back on, well that isnt lighting up, which would suggest to me that the motherboad isnt getting power?

Ya i already did (see my first post) tried the psu out of my current rig on the new mobo and the power indicator didnt come on :( as for trying another processor im not too keen to go pulling my processor out of my old comp and sticking it in a motherboard that has problems incase i end up with 2 dead rather then the 1 that is (POTENTIALLY) dead. Im beginning to think that this is gonna be a returns case :( im just gonna double post this is the motherboards section too. Anyone got some more suggestions?

Take it all apart I'm afraid & test & add 1 piece at a time on a bench or similar out of the case...

Chances are you have a short or a cable mishap! Happens :-(

This may sound silly but check your power cable as well to make sure the fuse hasnt blown (incase you happened to use a different power cord when you tested the psu in the other computer).

As Djjuk said the best thing to do now would be to remove the Mobo and install one component at a time to see what is causing a problem. You should be fine putting it on a wooden surface but i would suggest using the foam it is packaged with and put the antistatic bag over that. Also be careful when you push components in while it is laying flat or you could end up breaking the board.

It does sound like a faulty motherboard though.

Test it on a wood surface, or even on the motherboard's box as I usually do.

I would be strongly inclined to get that old CPU out the other machine, though.
