Last week i bought all the componenets from OcUK to build a PC but the motherboard - Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard refuses to post well, i belive it posted at first but gave me the beeps indicating dead motherboard or RAM.

As i had no video signal at all coming from the PC (tried a second grahics card too) and two monitors as well! No effect no video signal at all

The RAM i am using is - GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC.

I rang up OcUK support and they suggested trying 1GB in each of the DDR2 slots and seeing if it would POST or well start up, this had no effect. I then rang them saying no effect and now i am sending it back tomorrow (Monday 30th Sept)

Am i right in beliveing the Geil RAM is having a problem talking to the motherboard? As the OcUK tech guy said there could be the wrong Voltages for the RAM so it would not post...

Do i need to buy or try another type of RAM?

Help me please! Thanks

It is possible that the rams voltage requirement is higher than the board supplies at stock. If you have some cheap ddr2 spare then use this to get into the bios to set the correct voltage, save, turn your pc off and re-insert your geil.
