Dead motherboard?

I have an NF7 mb, with 2*256MB geil value RAM in it. It has been crashing a bit lately, so I did a mem test on it which failed dismally. I tried testing each stick on their own and they both still failed. Then suddely, I could not get it to post at all, and all I get is the long memory problem error beep. I have tried both sticks seperatly and together in all the slots and I still get the same error beep.

It seems to me that it is unlikely that both sticks of RAM would completly die at the same time so it is probably an error with the motherboard. I thought I would check if that seems reasonable with the experts before I try to source a replacement.

Welcome, can you try your parts in another machine or try other bits in yours that way you can narrow it down?

Unfortunatly not. The only other machine I have is this PIII, but it takes SD ram so I can't test it out.

I would suggest trying the memory in a mates machine if possible, shounds like memory to me though.
