My girlfriend's computer suddenly died while she was watching a dvd.

THe cpu fan will power up, but no beeps and nothing comes up on screen.

So far i have tried taking the motherboard out of its case and unplugging everything, hard disks, floppy and all pci cards and then reseating the cpu, resetting the cmos, new psu, new memory.

Does anyone have anymore ideas that i can try?

More likely the PSU dieing to be honest, theres not any real reason why a motherboard should die at random, try your set up with a different power supply to check that out.

If you have a different GFX card try that. I had a very similar problem, watched a film one night, turned off my pc, turned it on again the next day and nothing.
Replaced the GFX and everything was fine.

Hi suggest its the bios thats corrupted. Ive had it happen twice during normal running with a DFI Infinity NF2 Ultra mb for a sktA xp2600. Tested all that youve done and still no post. DFI sent me a new bois chip and all worked fine..
