Can anyone post helpways to counter?

Ive completed the game with all the characters already, but im not good enough for an online game yet i dont think, i used to love DOA3 but the counters on this i can never seem to pull off, which means if im being pumulled in a corner im screwed!

Any tips?
 
im having the same problem i cant get out of corners easily and its very rare i manage to get a counter its just X isnt it at the right time? altho i never do it :(
 
I think it's X plus a direction isn't it?

X + UP/LEFT is a high block/counter
X + LEFT is a mid counter
X + DOWN/LEFT is a low counter

(assuming you are on the left and the opponent is on the right)
 
You need to judge what height the opponent is going to attack!

if its a punch you need to pull away from the opponent and press your counter button, or if its a kick you need to push towards your opponent. As i said it depends on the height of the attack and if they are punching or kicking.

Rather than create another thread, can someone explain the holds then?

Do you attempt one before an attack, during or after? Kicking and punching I'm ok, but the holding and blocking - it's embarrassing!
 
I find the high counter hard to pull off for some reason, I've gotten ok at mid punch and low though. Just practice and learn the combo's I suppose.
Oh I set my counter to the Right shoulder button also.

Had some fantastic games with IceBus and R5Rich last night. Great fun guys. Thanks for the games.

Not quite sure what happened to Rich though, i think someone his misus must have took his pad off him half way through the night, he won 5 in a row :eek:

I think we need to introduce drug testing ;) Stimulants aren't allowed (especially when you win 5 in a row!)
 
Was some good games indeed 1st time i pld it online too so wasnt to bad. You two was kicking my ass for a while tho to be fair i was probs just lucky :P

I did manage to win 8 in a row later in the evening tho against some m8s and a few random people :D
