Hi Guys
Looking for a bit of help.

Until yesterday my PC was running fine but this morning this is not the case. The machine does not boot or spin up at all. I have made no changes to the system (Hardware, BIOS etc).

Machine is as follows:
AMD Phenom X4
Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe MB
4 x 1gb Geil DDR2 Ram
GeForce 8800GT

I have removed and reseated ALL components, Removed CMOS battery and cleared CMOS. The motherboard has a green LED that is dimly lit but flickers brightly. When I plug in the power cable all fans (CPU, Gfx card, case fans) do move but do not spin continuously.

I'm thinking PSU, Mobo, CPU but not necessarily in that order. Anyone come across this before and have any ideas before I start replacing components. I have no way of testing any specific parts.

Cheers

Paul

sounds like somethings goosed
best thing is to take everything out then try booting just psu + mobo, you should get error beeps telling you cpu is missing, if not its either mobo or psu, hard to tell which tbh without getting a 2nd psu to check, if you do get the beeps put cpu back in and try again, should then get error beeps for RAM, if not cpu dead, if so put one stick of RAM in and try again, keep adding components til you work out which ones failed
good luck

I'm also thinking it might be the PSU or motherboard. What PSU brand is it? When you say all the fans move, do they spin for a short second then stop? Are the case fans connected to the motherboard or the PSU?

I have had it stripped down to just CPU and RAM, just CPU and no CPU/RAM and I get no beeps in any configuration.

All fans spin for a couple of turns and then stop (CPU, PSU, case and Gfx fans)
