Dead Pixel/Calibration

well for dead pixels thats easy... your eyes 
hehe just have a black back round, see if theres any white dots, and visa versa and u should se if theres a colour stuck, as they stick out like sore thumbs, or pixles as the cse maybe.
as for colour calibration i also interested in this as my mate is having problems too, hes been looking to buy a calibratorbut they range from £60-well 300+ ive seen them sell for there ws a thred about this not that long back, but i dont think it had many opinions on which is better for just standard calibration.
