Dead pixel on red background

So I received the Samsung 23A750D this morning and it is excellent, not sure how to calibrate it but looks perfect out the box.

Anyway, I did the usual different coloured backgrounds and spotted a small black pixel on a red background. I did have to look for this to even get my attention. It doesn't appear on any other colour except as a very light turquoise colour on white.

Now, what would the DSR be? I usually hate dead pixels but this doesn't seem too noticeable, however I am a bit OCD when it comes to this as I paid new for it.

What's the shipping for a replacement? I DON'T want a refund, as this screen is fabulous for the price. What would the postage be and what would happen if the next screen is worse or the same? I read somewhere about OC.co.uk offering no issue dead pixel guarantee for Samsung and iiyama monitors.

lucky you lol
im still waiting for mine to come, says its still sat in the warehouse.
So much for the next day delivery if ordered before the 4pm cut off point.
Excellent service from Overclockers. Just rung to see where my monitor is as it should have been next day delivery and they have refunded me for delivery and should be here tomorrow.

That is excellent service. You're in for a treat. Been using the monitor nearly all day as colours in game are amazing, as are films. The glossyness really does appeal to me.

Still undecided on the RMA thing.. I may leave it for a week to see if it burns in and the dead pixel on red goes from playing games. I'm not touching the 3D glasses as there is a seal on it. Got everything prepared, just in case.

It would be cool to have OC.co.uk send a new one out to me to see how if it's dead pixel free, then if it ends up being worse, i'd settle for my current one send the newer one back. They'd charge me as insurance if I fail to return one.

It says on the product page

"- **Zero Dead Pixel Guarantee** - If your Samsung S23A750D has dead pixel(s) you may return it for a replacement within 14 days of receipt."

what did you use to check for dead pixels?
is there any programs out there that flash up different colours etc?
ill be checking mine IF it arrives tomorrow. Not holding my breath as on order info it still showing as qued in OC's warehouse. :(

UDPixel mate. You can click through colours and it shows them fullscreen.

This is great to know. I just hope the next one doesn't have one, or any bad backlight bleed. There's literally no bleed on this, it's great. Are these/Samsung monitors good for lack of bleed?

I don't want to send it back and find the next is worse though. Any word on postage?

If it's one dead pixel, don't bother imo. They're far too common. You're lucky it is only one, if you send this back and get a monitor with more then you'll just do the process again, it's just time consuming. You're not going to use yellow and lime or red/turquoise very often (At both people with it) so I'd just leave it. :>

I didn't fix mine but hoping a week of gaming might try to shift it. The bad news is I can't have a red background, but I usually go for blue anyway to match everything.

Part of me doesn't want to as there is no backlight bleed whatsoever. Never had this before. Can you confirm that too steverob1983?

The other part of me just wants a perfect monitor because of buying it new. Really indecisive. Honestly, it could have been worse and been a black pixel on white or something, but who's to say it might not get worse and become visible on ALL colours?

Im looking at it this way mate. I believe i have 14 days to return the monitor, someone correct me if Im wrong? if i feel i can't live with it in a week or so ill return it. iv been talking to a few people and they have all pretty much said were lucky there is only one dead pixel as its not uncommon to get 2 or 3. Worst part about it is Im blaming Felton for my dilemma. if he hadn't started this thread and pointed me in the direction of udpixel i wouldn't have even looked for a dead pixel and i probably wouldn't even know it was there lol.
As far as the monitor goes i think its bloody brilliant and can't fault it other than the dead pixel. Not noticed any backlight bleed or anything. Not well up on 3d and not really experienced at lot of it other than at the cinema but Im really impressed with it, a lot better than i thought it would be. Had 10 minutes on GW2 in 3D before i came to work and i was like a kid on Christmas day.
