dead pixel question

I'm looking at a a total rebuild and getting a tft to replace my crt. I'm a little worried about dead pixels. If I spend £300 pounds I'd like it to be perfect. I was looking at a widescreen display and kinda maybe well possibly the Viewsonic VX2025wm.

Now the Viewsonic site states

Note on Pixel Defect Policy:
For any sub pixel defect (red or green or blue) ViewSonic LCD display products are warranted in accordance with the ISO standard 13406-2 class II. On pixels ViewSonic exceeds ISO 13406-2 class II requirements not allowing for any defective (permanently dark or bright) complete pixel consisting of red, green, and blue sub pixels (“Zero Pixel Defect Policy”).

What does that mean and what would the visible difference be between sub pixels and complete pixels ?

Do other Manufactures offer a better dead pixel policy ?

Thanks.

Each pixel is made of 3 sub-pixels (wiki link here)

If you get a stuck one it can be quite annoying if it's near the middle of the screen, they'll basically appear as a bright coloured dot. I've never had a whole dead/permanently lit full pixel, though I would imagine sub-pixels would be more annoying.

The ISO standard says:

A flat panel display should not have pixel faults, i.e. fault class I. According to ISO 13406-2 further fault classes with the following number of faults are specified. Types 1, 2 or 3 differentiate pixels, which always illuminated, never illuminated or e.g. contain subpixel faults:

Fault Class: II
Type 1: 2
Type 2: 2
Type 3: 5

Some manufacturers (e.g. ASUS monitors as sold on here) give 'no coloured dot' warranties and the like, though I'm pretty sure you're covered under the DSA (return within 7 days for no reason) for things like this.
