dead pixel

hi i just orderd a monitor and i hear this thing about dead pixels a lot,is it something i should worried about and will i know if there is any straight away.the model is OcUK Value L2442W

My L2442 developed a stuck (magenta) pixel after about two weeks use. Was perfect out of the box. On a screen this large I rarely notice it. There's plenty of software tools to diagnose/attempt to fix bad pixels. See the sticky in the monitor forum.

A dead pixel is one that is stuck 'off' and will be easiest to see against a white or light background. If you have a good look at the screen on a few different backgrounds you should be able to spot any defective pixels.

I'm afraid it's just luck of the draw wether your monitor will ship with any.
