Dead pixels on new screen ?

I bought the samsung t220 only last week.

I switched it on today and there is already one fairly visible dead pixel just off left of the centre of the screen.

I can put up with it but it's annoying how it's there within one week.

Would it be worth getting it replaced/returned or is it even within the acceptable of dead pixels a monitor must have before it is eligible for RMA ?

That's what i was thinking but if this is what samsung lcd monitor's are like then it will be my last barely a week old with no more than 30hrs use at most and already a dead pixel.

There's something i've just realised after trying what you posted from samsung is that the "dead pixel" is a dark dot seems to be the exact position of the dot on the i on view computer details on the vista welcome center.

I know very little about dead pixels or burn-in but seems to me it looks more like burn in than a dead pixel unless its's total and utter coincidence that it is basically the dot on the i.

I know you need to ask that but if anyone didn't clean there screen if they found something like this they need a slap.

It was the first thing i done.

Have you tried gently massaging (with a suitable cloth) the area of the dead pixel, sometimes you can get lucky and bring it back to life?

This can work and sometimes they can go on their own accord.

The technicque is described in the Samsung link I posted earlier.

Cheers,

Nigel
