Here is my system.
c2d 6400 running at 3.2GHz
8800gts running at 650/2000
2gb ddr800
1 80 gig sata hdd
1 250gb ide hdd
gigabyte ds3 motherboard
cheap dvd rom

My power supply, a 500w seasonic died on me tonight. I was playing a game one second, the next, the pc shuts down...quietly. I tried to get it back up and the most it would do is power on for a milisecond before stopping. At this point I am wondering if its the board (again) as this is my second ds3. I pull the seasonic out and try it in my P4 machine and it does the same thing. It powers that system on for a milisecond and then dies. Sometimes it does not start it at all. The system is less than a month old.

So...dumb question but, is it for sure the PS? I ask this because before I rma it I want to get another local so I can use my machine this weekend. Also, is there anything I can do to the PS to get it working again?

Is it possible, because I was under the impression thaseasonic is a quality unit, that the PS is not up to snuff with my overclocks and all the drives I have?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

It does sound like the PSU, one thing you can do is to leave the PSU disconnected for an hour or so to see if it resets as some PSUs have an internal poly-fuse which might have tripped. Other than that I think you will have to return it, Seasonic do make quality PSUs, because of this fact you shouldn't find that there is any problem with the rest of your parts. :)
