A week ago my PSU died, a AX850, I created a thread about it here. Today I tested it again before sending off the RMA request, it still didn't work. I tried a few things, then replaced all the cables and removed the jump, still nothing. However, it seems that after a while of the PSU being left plugged in it will work again, well until I unplug it then it will not work when I plug it back in.

Firstly is it safe the turn the PC on when the PSU seems to be working and secondly would this still constitute as faulty to Corsair?

Your psu is not yet dead its DYING and you will do as Dark Light stated do damage to other components in your pc.

I know, I guess I knew that all a long but I was hopping someone would say something that would convince me that it was ok, even though I knew it wasn't. But I've resisted the temptation to turn it on and the components should be safe. I've managed to borrow a silver rated 850W PSU that is 5 years old, I imagine that should be ok for a few months.
