dead psu ?

my father turned his system on tonight and it tripped the electric , it worked fine when he last used it . changed the gfx card to see if that was the problem but no luck , it was a seasonic 550w which seems odd that it has packed up in a little over a year . surely the 3870x2 did not kill it lol

kingston valueram ddr3 pc3 10666 2x2gb
dvd oem drive
160gb sata II hd
sapphire 3870x2 (replaced with a spare working 3870)

the pc will no longer turn on , no fans or led's

what i will do is let my dad have my psu and get a new one , which 1000w psu for around the £120-150 mark . need reply asap due to ordering asap

this happened to me, and it was my mobo that had gone bang!, You could try shorting out the pins on the PSU to see if that still functions?

the mobo/cpu was new early may of this year , surely they are not the problem so soon . i will have to check tomorrow when i visit my parents
