Dead RAM?

Hi there,
I've just bought 2x1Gb of OCZ DDR2 memory.
When added to the 2x1Gb of Corsair XMS2 already there, the system wouldn't POST.
When trying the sticks individually, three sticks worked and booted normally into Windows.
The last stick (one of the new OCZ ones) on its own would give variable results - sometimes not POSTing at all, sometimes sticking at the POST screen, sometimes booting into Windows but restarting before completing.
Assuming I've got a dead stick, just wondering if there are any more tests I need to do before I RMA it?
Cheers,
Ian

Yep, sound like a dead stick, you could try mem-test.

Give Ocuk a web note or stick a note in the customer forums.

exact same thing happened with me on a 3x2gb ocz gold two days ago, memtest confirmed the fault, gutting! sending them back today though for new ones wich is cool

If you did not already do it, I'd suggest test all 4 in the 0 memory slot, 1 pass each with Memtest. When you tested that 1 suspect module, was it in the 0 slot?

Your issue could be mixing the memory, running mixed memory on that specific MOBO, 4 modules, etc.
