Dead Rising 2 To Be A PS3 Exclusive?

With Dead Rising enjoying masses of success, the chances of Capcom releasing a sequel are fairly high. Although a sequel hasn't been confirmed by Capcom, according to the October edition of Electronic Gaming Monthly, one of the US' most popular gaming magazines, is reporting that Sony may have convinced Capcom to make Dead Rising 2 a PS3 exclusive.

While the October issue of EGM is not currently available to the public, subscribers, who get their copies early, have been posting the magazines contents in message boards. The article also suggests that Resident Evil 5 will also be a PS3 exclusive, despite being officially unveiled at X05 last year.

Looks as if it may be time for Microsoft to dig into those deep pockets again.

If it happens, it happens. Still nowhere near enough incentive for me to fork out silly money for a PS3.

Agreed. There's nowhere near enough exclusives that are convincing me to consider paying silly money for the PS3.

1. Silly money
2. Replace 360 or clutter up the room with two consoles
3. If I did replace it buying a ton of games for the PS3
4. Miss some games that were only on the Xbox 360

No incentive at all for me, add into that the fact that the PS2 was dire and in my opinion the worst ever hardware purchase I made (and I had a master system II!!) I have no brand loyalty at all these days and I was a faithful PS fan for years with almost 80 games.

quoted for truth, 360 will be the only next gen console in my life.

Technically, if you're talking about games only the Wii is next-generation because thats the only one thats changed gaming dramatically.

But thats a different argument...

As for Dead Rising, it's possible. I'm more interested in how they'll make a sequel for a game thats clearly suited to a one-off release only in terms of story.

See graphics cards for a vey sped up demonstration of this.

Very true I was a "Nvidia are best" fan boy for ages, recommended them to anyone that asked then had a lot of problems with drivers etc. Tried an ATI card and found that I had less hassle at the time and the performance was just as good.

Now I pretty much tell people to go buy whatever gives them best bang for buck, who cares what the badge is!

Means little to me, DR2 is totall far off and where is this fabled PS3 thing right now?

So thats Full Auto 2 and Dead Rising possibly coming out on the PS3 rather then the 360. Given that these two games are so far away, theres a strong chance they'll arrive on the 360 anyway. At the end of the day, it's two games that are literally miles away to appear on a non existant console. Meaningless.

PS. Kami is a plank!

Dead Rising 2 on ps3?

must rush out and buy PS3 pronto.

damm i forgot its not out yet!

TBH for me it just means when the PS3 is sub £199 in year 2010 it'll have some games i might be interested in, ATM i'm just enjoying my 360 :)

1) The article also says that RE5 is PS3 exclusive, but hasn't it already been announded for the 360?

2) Dead Rising sold over 500,000 copies in North America alone in the first 2 weeks of sale, Sony would have to cough up some serious money to persuade Capcom that talking it off the 360 would be worthwhile.

that would be the only possible way of making it better than just a sequel tunney and im so shocked it was never done in the first place!

I don`t think ANY game should be released "exclusively" for one console.
Once again the gamer gets shafted.

Well then, what would be the point in buying the PS3 if you have a 360? or a wii if you own a PS3?

If Lost Planet was released on the PS3 and 360, why would anyone buy a 360? if DMC was released on the 360 as well, why would people who are fans of DMC think "ohhh. lets buy a 500 pound new console to play the same game as on the 360".

Now, I grant you, in house games (like halo for example) would still be exclusive, and I would argue that Nintendo would probablly do the best, followed by MS. but, I think the console war would be less interesting if the "ha ha ha ha! you dont get it exclusive! its coming out on my console too!" thing wasnt there.

The only thing that could be added (and should have been added to the original) is a multiplayer mode.

I'm 100% in agreement with your opinion though that Dead Rising really is only suited to be a one-off title.
