Dead Rising 4 (Win 10 only it seems!)

Dead Rising 1 & 2 were brilliant. Played both over a dozen times on the 360. DR3 I couldn't even run on my PC - a 5ghz i7 with a R9 290 on it. It ran at sub 20fps and was almost as bad as GTAIV so I never got far in it to judge it.

Doubt I'll bother with 4 really...as it'll be more of the same. However State of Decay 2 - YES PLEASE! The first game was brilliant and one of the best survival zombeh games I'd played alongside DR.
Think you will change your mind as DR4 is rumoured to be DR1 remastered & expanded with brand new gfx/game engine (same as DR3) set in the same shopping mall location as DR1 but at xmas time so lots of crazy zombie black Friday chaos ;)

Comes out on Win 10 Store only for now 6th December. MS removed from the Play Anywhere titles list as its probably but not confirmed as coming to Steam at some time after the 90 day exclusivity to Win 10 expires. This means it will only appear on the Win 10 store on 6th December they do not usually do preloads for non Play Anywhere titles (its 50GB on PC).

As the entire game is set around the xmas-holiday period its probably highly unlikely Capcom release such a xmas themed game until late 2017 when it will also launch on PS4 so sadly it looks like you either have to buy on the terrible Win 10 store or wait until its announced on Steam.

£66 as well for the full game with season pass! At least MS do a hassle free refund though if the game is rubbish.

Really tempted with this, but the price is steep. I also cant seem it on my windows store yet.....which is a good thing in the sense that I cant click that pre-order button!:D
MS removed it from the Play Anywhere title list (as its no longer exclusive to MS platforms) which also removed it from the Windows Store so that means it will not appear on there until launch day...no 50GB preload for the PC peasants as the fully (un) featured!! Win 10 store does not even support preloading unless its a Play Anywhere title.

Also several US XB1 players got the disc version early the reports are not positive:

Timer removed (this was already known about) takes a lot of tension away.
Boss intros removed it now treats all bosses like any regular zombie you just fight them without any context like the previous games gave you amusing video intros.
Regenerating health (this was also known about but it once again removes any tension its hard to ever get killed now).
Easier than ever to lvl up & capped @ lvl 80.

Overall the impression they report is the game has been dumbed down for casual players but those steps have also removed a lot of the series gameplay mechanics & made it seem like a very pretty but shallow game for casual younger players.

Not sure its worth risking £49.99 or £65.99 for that (half of the DLC is a 4 player co-op golf course you use weapons to shoot the ball around the course!). At least MS do a hassle free refund though if you buy & do not like even if its several days later they still refund without question most of the time even if you have completed the game ;)

Capcom really sold out here as most players who are fans of the series would probably like to play on Win 7 + Steam but must either wait 90 days or even longer (Dead Rising 3 took 10 months to arrive after XB1 release) as its hard to imagine they would release a Steam version in the spring\summer of a snowbound xmas themed game :(

Cheers for clearing that up.

I love the DR series, but the price is steep. I am also not a great fan of the windows store. The primary issue I have is that unlike steam/origin/uplay (please correct me if I am wrong....and I hope I am!) when you reinstall your OS it is impossible to get windows store to point to the data on whatever drive you have it and play right away.

I have just completed a reinstall, and now I am faced with downloading GOW4 again at around 75gb. Shocking.
I hate the Win 10 store as its rubbish but your wrong about moving data you can just copy paste the folder contents as they are 256bit encrypted to your username when you download so its all self contained.

Judging by the comments from Capcom below I get the impression this game is being dumped with minimal QA to make the release date the day 1 crash on 1st launch is pretty shocking as is the no preorder or any other way to buy on PC until release day and the day 1 DLC pre-order bonus is not even downloadable at all  seems like Capcom went back to the bad old days of unwanted PC ports on this game

XB1 Review (not favourable!)

I read that this is a 90 day times exclusive, not sure if that means console or not, either way while wait an see of it hits steam or not
90 days is Windows PC exclusive to Win 10 store then Capcom can port to Steam if they want to. But the entire game is set @ xmas in snowbound festive scenes not sure they will launch that after 90 days as DR3 took 10 months to come to Steam after being exclusive to Win 10.

This is silly of course as no way will this game sell anymore XB1 consoles by being exclusive for 90 days to PC & 1 year on console

Out now on the UK Win 10 Store App. Prices have been adjusted downward as well. £39.99 for the std version & £54.99 for the Deluxe edition with Season Pass. £16 for the Season pass on its own to upgrade the std edition (season pass content is out next year though).

Took a chance on this as the price dropped to £39.99 & have to say its a brilliant game. Starts off slowly but once you get into it a very good DR game better than DR3 & looks about the same but the sense of humour & xmas setting is really used well here. Also quite a large game with mainly outdoor large open world sprawling levels. Its probably the best game in the series just a shame its tied to Win 10 for now but works pretty well although needs some serious high end hardware for decent smooth FPS.

Uses Denuvo as well as Win 10 Store which is I guess why not many have bought on PC yet!

I buckled as well and bought it. Havent had a lot of play time yet because the Windows store was playing silly ******* with the download for me. Stop, start, reset, rinse, repeat. Eventually it came through.

I am also enjoying it. I just bought the bog standard version and I will see later if the season pass seems worth it.
It gets better the longer you play. But it starts shockingly poorly as FPS are low until you upgrade Frank a little then it suddenly behaves as it should but until then its stuttering in many places with basic graphics as well!

I estimate it will take around 75-100 hours to fully complete excluding the MP mode so much content & side quests-collectibles.

Some of the weapons are both amazing & wonderful ;)
(Gandalf staff which fires mini Gandalf grenades or the magic wand which turns zombies into cute gingerbread men & xmas parcels)
so many weapons as well & bizarre combos to create or discover

If this had been launched on Steam it would have sold very strongly in the next few weeks due to the xmas theme, snowbound setting & quality of the gameplay but unless your a fan of the DR series I do not think its going to win any new fans as its just more of the same but different, unusual & wacky :D

Going to have a decent go this weekend, and I will test the performance then.

What GPU do you use AWPC?

I have a couple of 980s, but I am unsure if SLI is utilized in the game at all.
KFA2 GTX1080 HOF game still lags badly early on then once I upgrade Frank all the microstuttering magically went away!

It'll be W10 store rather than Denuvo

People just don't go to the Windows Store to buy games, everytime we hear comment on sales they're shocking.
It uses Denvuo as well apparently. I agree Win 10 store was shocking but it at least works better now you can download reliably and its the only way to ever own certain games so cheaper than buying a console! MS still do a no hassle refund process as well even if you played the game for a few weeks.

Buyer beware!

Just got a full refund from MS. At least that's fast to do only took 2 min's online. Game is not ready to be sold yet. So many game breaking bugs QA is obviously user tested now

Doors stay locked you need to progress through
Safe Houses lose all survivors (that's 8-10 hours progress lost right there)
Sub missions have no content so are not possible to do
Zombies spawn all over the place in walls, cars, buildings etc etc some are not possible to kill yet you must to get the required number of survivors in your safe house to progress your stats & upgrades

Game is in a shocking state until you start to tackle the story missions its not apparent but one you start to sink time into it the problems become obvious.

Oh well lets see when or if it appears on Steam with some hefty patching I hope!
