Oooo, this could be a little scary:

Apparently it's a known issue and may be because Dead Rising is the first game to use all three cores of the 360 ( )

Either way, there's a few people reporting all sorts of stuff down to broken HDD to broken CD scanner etc.

Worried?

Been worried for a while about this yes. DR doesn't look too intensive at all too, so I'm not sure why they'd need to use all 3 cores for the game just yet. I guess this Friday will seperate the truly robust 360's from the weak ones.... :p

Except for all the on screen zombies!

TBH it's probably a case of a very small % of people with loud voices having problems. I guess their particular 360s was going to go faulty sooner or later, and Dead Rising helped that process along due to it being so intensive.

There's a spanking number of enemies on screen at once!
True, but Kameo had even more then that on the level where you see the elves vs orcs war. DR isn't exactly a visually spectacular title so I just couldn't see what the problem was. Guess I'll find out when the full game comes out.

load of rubbish, if your 360 is gonna die it don't matter what your playing, its just a coincidence that its with Dead Rising as a lot of people are playing it.

Same was said with PGr3 then GRAW now this.

Don't believe the hype

You'd assume that the systems would be tested to make sure they can run at full load in the factory. I have a hard time believing a demanding game could actually kill a console. :o

Theres a thread on here as well where Saints Row has broken someones 360 as McmaniacMan says it's probably more to do with the fact a large percentage of people are playing Dead Rising / Saints Row / PGR3 or whatever the "in" game is at that time than that particular game doing something other games dont do.

Besides mine is still a December 2nd launch day 360 and has never skipped a beat (touches all the ajacent wood :o )

But sheer volume isn't everything. The CPU will be taxed by AI more than anything else when sheer volume is concerned. How advanced was the AI in kameo compared to dead rising?
I'd say the kameo ai was way better then DR's although its hard to make assumptions on a game not out yet. The races in that battle were all individually controlled bits of AI all doing their own unique thing.

The demo has been fine for me and I've never had any problems with my 360 thank god. My bro's died about 4 months ago but the shop we got it from swapped it there and then for a new one and his new one works fine too! Roll on friday, really looking forward to this!

The enemies on screen in Kameo were actually fighting each other than just just lunging towards you, which in theory would be more CPU intensive I guess?

But then again the games have been coded totally differently so as a result DR could be more CPU intensive due to whatever reasons.

 My 360 seemed to die just after playing the Dead Rising demo, i put this down to coincidence but i do find it strange that so many other peoples 360's seemed to have died after playing certain games, so far its been dead rising, saints row, Kameo and PGR3 i have noticed most complain about, even my m8 found a glitch in Tomb Raider where he managed to go through a part of the scenery which he shouldnt have, i believe his 360 then hung up gave out a horrible high pitched beep then promptly died :D. surely there something not right if it happens on certain games....cant say i have heard saying its died when the have been playing for 8 hours solid trying to complete the global challenges in Fifa World Cup

well i've had mine since release date and played most games that really gonna test it kameo, saints row, oblivion, dead rising demo,n3
and touch wood still had no problems think its crashed once since i got it .

I had problems related to the hard drive when I first got my copy of Dead Rising. It'd flip over to the "disc unreadable" message as soon as I started a new game. Would've spent ages returning the game back and forth until I read about a dodgy bug. Ended up buying a mem card, transferring saves, and formatting the hard drive in order to play.

I've got no idea why it did this but its been working fine ever since.
