Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster - 19/09/24

Bought the £49.99 deluxe edition its out now (same date is also ingame in the mall LOL).

Performance is pretty poor it needs a lot of optimisation its a pretty poor port you have to turn detail & resolution down even with the 3 included AA upscaling solutions performance is shocking! Needs a LOT of optimisation & or massive powerful GPU!

It uses the RE engine (most recently used in RE4 remake)

What GPU do you have?
RTX Super 2060 Gaming X - regardless of resolution or detail settings high or low once you get a few zombies onscreen performance collapses. It needs major work to patch the frame pacing is horrendous. The original Dead Rising used the CPU properly to ensure that did not happen.....

Then the voice cast are all new and seem to be amateurs or non union as due to a strike when the game was being made they could not go to the original voice cast who were still alive......there are some really obvious & poor voice work here its really shocking for a full price release!

Was looking forward to playing, but it absolutely will not launch through steam.
I've tried all the reddit/youtube advice and nothing.
Shame :(

Edit

Got it working, just had to delete Crash Reporter and Crash Reporter DLL files.

On 2nd playthrough and runs great *(180-225 FPS max settings), but looking at some of the Steam reviews it's apparent you need a beefy GPU for decent performance.
It is pretty janky (the graphics at night are really not good, the survivor AI leaves a lot to be desired and the time skip function causes a few problems) and it does need an update including making it harder (a couple of the boss fights were just daft), but overall it's a great way to relive the memories of the many many hours I played it all those years ago.
Not sure i'd be over the moon if I paid retail, but keys sites have it cheaper.

* like the idiot I am, I had DLSS on ultra performance hence the high FPS.
Had a another playthrough today with some mods to get the best ending, but had DLSS off and image quality ramped up to 200% and it looked (unsurprisingly) much better and still got 100+ FPS, also nice to know the fans on my 4090 do actually work (and boy they worked).
