In UK you can buy right now digitally & it will unlock straight away (been playing my retail DVD version for hours now) from either D2D or Gamersgate. Steam have a page up but they have not made it live so you will need to wait until friday if you want from Steam. UK retail version is very cheap around £13 pre-order price so you have just enough to buy that before it goes to full price £19.95!! The price is so cheap as its a DR2 expansion pack with lots of new content (just under 7GB worth) but not the same game as it tells part of the DR2 story from another characters perspective so you get new locations/weapons etc etc as well as the sandbox unlimited mode with no timers (wired/wireless 360 gamepads both work as well this time!!). It has some new gameplay challenge modes as well which can be done in co-op or sp.

Technically the PC version looks superb & works perfectly out of the box no patches or glitches whatsoever Capcom have also upped the number of zombies onscreen to something like 3000 @ once (with no slowdown either & in reasonable detail with x16AA).

If mindless zombie slaughtering is your thing then this is the game for you as it offers both timed story, unlimited sandbox & challenge modes :D I cannot remember the last time I had this much fun in a PC game in 2011 without having to fix something it simply works as it should as soon as you install it ;)

This'll be one for the steam sales for me I think, just like DR2. DR2 was good for some mindless co-op fun but it didn't have a lot of replay value for me.

liked part 1, loved part 2 (due to coop). Want to get this but theres no price

no you dont, its stand alone
Steam UK are not allowed to sell until Friday then it will be £19.95 you can order now for under £15 a retail version which does not have a disk check after activation unless Steam is worth £5 more to you just order the retail version!

Dead risings 1/2 crap timed mission structure and degrading weapons ruined the game for me.

This is something I found annoying about the game as well, but I modded it to make it more enjoyable. Used a simple trainer to change how fast time flows and edited some files to give many of the weapons unlimited durability (not all, as some objects like china plates, for example, would be silly if you couldn't break them).

After the tweaking I found it pretty amusing. Was certainly worth my time. Not sure I could be fussed to get this "new" game, though.

I played the opening 30 mins or so of this tonight, it seems virtually the same as DR2, only with a different lead character and a camera.

Weapons degrade, and missions are timed..

I would need to play longer to see if its worth buying over DR2, but i'm getting a strong feeling of deja vu so far.

It basically is just a Director's Cut/Remake version with Frank West back as the main character + some gameplay tweaks and improvements.

I always feel that i need to push or hold a button to make the character actually go faster, seems to go so slow, and the fact the character in this one is rather fat doesn't help. :p
