Dead Space Is Awesome!!

I have not read the whole thread.

I will get it for the PC but should I play it with the keyboard and mouse or really use a PS3 controller?

I’d much rather stab myself in the penis than use the PS3 controller!

XBOX360 controller is the way to go on PC with games like this.

its not that bad on kb and rodent.
just make sure that you unplug any joypads or any other controller you have plugged in toyour rig as it interfears with controls, as i discovered and was getting ready to launch the cat !

whats the benefits on 360 controller to kb and mouse ? interested

I agree, and i really really love my penis... but PS3 controllers are such terrible things from 1994 that were simply not originally designed with analogue or trigger buttons in mind.

Just use a 360 controller on PC.

Has anyone with the PC version seen the 360 one in action? I know the usual comments about better textures, higher framerates and so on, but I'd like to hear from someone who has actually SEEN both in action. Strikes me as a better match for the big telly and xbox controller rather than my PC desk, just wondering if it's significantly worse on the xbox.
Just get a DVI to HDMI cable and connect your PC to your HDTV. I did this about 2 years ago and have never looked back since as all games benefit from my 40" screen. Dead Space looks amazing and the atmosphere is very strong. The 360 & PS3 versions look a little murky as they employ filters to mask the low res gfx vs the PC looks very sharp and clear and has no FPS issues whereas the consoles get some slowdown in places.

One thing that really impresses me with Dead Space is the quality of acting. It is the best Sc-Fi horror game since System Shock 2 IMO.

The more I play this the better it gets even with mouse and keyboard!

Should probably have said that this isn't an option, PC is too big bulky for the TV room, had it hooked up with a VGA cable for a while but also got buggered off with wireless keyboard batteries failing, mouse not being charged cos I forgot to leave it on the charger, that kind of thing. A PC needs a desk to use comfortably.

Advice to newbies: don't sell your plasma cutter.

I sold mine so i could go to town on upgrades for my contact beam, but the ammo is so scarce the whole game has been a nightmare. Have resorted to slowing most enemies with my power and stomping them to death.

It's my one real complaint of the game really. They shouldn't give you the freedom to buy/sell weapons then make it almost impossible if you choose a certain one.

You'd think since the plasma cutter is first weapon/tool in the game that it would seem inferior to other weapons/tools you pick up later in the game. I ended up using the plasma cutter through out.
