Dead Space Is Awesome!!

Nope, I've got an 8600GT on my lappy and a 280 on my main PC.
Turning off vsync ingame fixes the mouse lag but forcing vsync through the control panel didn't work for me.

The best solution is to run D3DOverrider (comes with rivatuner) and enable vsync and triple-buffering through that, makes the game much smoother.

I bought two games this week-Dead Space and Far Cry 2..........Far Cry Two is Dull repetive and not worth the money......Dead Space on the other hand is superb!

what a great game!

If your on xp and ati just do driver install only without ccc and use ati tray tools works like a charm I use that combo anyway its far superior to ccc.

my documents for xp but thats probably no help to you.

disabling vsync using in-game options seems to work just fine for the mouse lag

I don't get any mouselag (v-sync off), it's just feels very irresponsive.

In all honesty, having played the game for a bit now, I actually like the controls the way they are because they sort of fit in with the whole theme of the game and very much contribute to the tension. I mean, you don't want super accurate headshots with the flick of the mouse do you? The guy is supposed to be in a heavily armoured, space/bio suit, which means his movement is going to be limited to some degree anyway. Also in general, quick reactions just don't comply with the natural lore of the horror genre.

Finally bit the bullet and got this one, holy christ it's scarey. Is there any way to adjust the joystick deadzones? They're a bit too huge for my likings (using the xbox 360 controller)

Thanks dude! unfortunately it didn't work so I just spent the last hour re-organising my entire My Docs drive. Such a pain in the ass but hopefully won't need to do it again EVER!

Game now saves after re-aligning the "Documents" folder to a folder on the root of the 2nd HDD instead of on the root itself :)

Damn....should i get this or not? I love the premise...but is it too console-y? Is it going to bore me like Mass Effect inexplicably did?

I find this game MUCH more satisfying than MASS EFFECT (had it on PC).

Much more entertaining :)

Ah cool - do you change the location of the documents folder like you can do with the My Pictures and My Music folders?

Well in Vista it's a bit more complex :p

You first need to map the document folders (all of them if you changed them first time round) back to defaults (selecting no to not move the files over too). Then create the structure how you want in a new folder on the root of your drive and manually move them over.

Then! you need to map the "Documents" folder from the start menu (in line path so don't worry) to the new location and then go to your username folder from start menu (top link in start menu) and map the music/videos/pictures folders to the new location music/vids/pics folders as mapping the "documents" folder does not map these too, they exist separately.

You must do it in the above order because if you map the latter folders first then the start menu links to them once you map the documents folder will link to nothing and they lose their properties until you go back to how it was before the changes.

I wish they kept the style of XP for My Documents management but alas times change and once you get your head round how Vista organisation works it's alright in the end :p

One good thing though is that if you had shortcuts to files or folders on your desktop then the shortcuts automagically re-route to the new location which was nice.

Also I have some screenshots taken in the max quality settings 1920x1200:

Looks/runs great TBH, the dark and smoky yet eerily lit levels make this well worth it.
