Dead ST

you're getting pushed around here. you should've sat at the reception desk and calmly asked how you were going to get home and how would you commute etc.
they should have given you a courtesy car, if one is not available at the dealership, they should have sourced one from another dealership or a private hire company. have no doubts that they will be claiming courtesy car hire from ford direct (they do this after something is on back order for over a certain period) the fact they have no eta on the gear box could mean there isn't one in the country or maybe even europe (though i doubt this)
go in tomorrow and state you are not happy with the quality of the product and service, core down more on the product than the service, this opens up a new ball game. the after sales adviser should step in or if they haven't/don't, it's them you need to take this issue up with.

Absolutely shocking level of service. Are they really trying to say they don't have a demonstrator or something they can lend you until they pull their finger out?

That is shocking. Did they actually charge you to have the car moved to the other dealership too?

I would get onto consumer advice to be honest.

Kinda, I had to use my recovery insurance and it only covers 10 miles and the extra miles cost me £25, Im getting onto ford customer care at 9am to see what I can get out of them

Shocking service.
Even my local BMW indie will give me a car if mine is in for a day or so. OK, so it's a beat up 25 year old 3 series with no front brakes, but hey. It moves.

As many have said I think unless your on a premium brand you aren't gonna have much luck. When my 9 month old 350z broke it's fan belt - I was towed to the dealer. Dealer couldn't get the part for 10 days. They didn't offer, didn't have a courtesy car and basically didn't give a monkeys. I wrote/rang Nissan customer car etc and got a letter basically saying that Nissan discounted cars to the dealer to buy for use a courtesy but that was where them as the manufacturer ended. I got a box of chocolates from them - great that really helped me get to work didn't it :/

Tbh I'm used to shocking service from Ford so if I get anything above utter rubbish I thank my lucky stars.

Wow, this really puts the service from various manufacturers into perspective.

I have never, ever not had a brand new loan vehicle available when I need it from BMW - despite the fact I did not buy a new car from them and my car is now getting on a bit. The one time my car needed to go into the dealer and couldnt get there itself it was collected on a truck and I was dropped at my local Enterprise branch to collect a hire car, which 2 days later they swapped for a 3 Series.

They even gave me a brand new 1 Series for my MOT

I kinda just took this sort of thing for granted. Don't most people cite utter peace of mind as a key reason for buying brand new cars in warranty? Doesn't sound like you get much peace of mind from Ford or Nissan

ignoring audi, who were always great, I have always had a courtesy car from honda and nissan, this just sounds pathetic from ford tbh.

I'll never buy a new Ford again. I loved the ST, but the general organisation of Ford dealers is poor. IME they charge for courtesy cars, but that could have been 'cause it was a company motor.

Mind BMW in worcs have been poor for the lads at our place who have company cars. Honda,VW and Audi, have really stood out as the best.

Fox, do you pay extra for your services in respect to the courtesy cars?

It is strange. Although I've never had my Skoda break down, everytime it's been in for it's service, or MOT or any work which needed doing, I've been given a Courtesy car.

If my car being as new as some in here (the 350Z and ST) broke down and they refused to give me a car in return, I would sit down in their showroom and refuse to budge until the keys to a car was given to me. Unbelievable.

This is pretty much my experience from Lexus, BMW and Audi.
Lexus were the best. Any car in the range I wanted to drive for a day would be made available as long as I booked in advance. Sadly, I only got to drive 1 (LS460) as the big GS never went wrong.
My A8 was in and out of Audi for a year and they always had a decent car lined up for me. Not an A2 or A3 but usually another A8, Q7 or A6 of some variant.

Kinda looking forward to having a job again and being able to once again buy good cars with good customer service.

oh well managed to call ford uk HQ today and ask switchboard for the directors office fax number, So i typed up a good letter and faxed it off to the director of ford UK, Will see where that gets me.

Same. Shame that VAG Smart Price gives better customer service than Ford.

Having said that I'm sure I aged by about 30 years the second I sat in a Roomster :p

MrMoonX- I hope the fax gets you somewhere but I wouldn't hold my breath :(

ouch! sounds like there just being twits. even renault have always had a car ready for me even whwn they didnt have one in reserve they got a hire car for me, even if it's only half a day for the work.

poor show ford, in fact I do have a ford as well and last time that went in to be serviced I was given a curt car, it wasnt great, a pov spec KA but it was transport , maybe they just dont like YOU.

bullit

Update 3: Was woken up this morning by the phone, was Ford telling me that my car was ready. Apparently the gearbox came in yesterday but their system was showing it as backordered and by surprise it arrived at the stealers, all fitted and I just picked her up. Fun time is resumed!
