Dead/Stuck pixels policy @ OCUK

Recently I bought a BenQ XL2411Z 24" monitor and the panel has developed a 1 stuck pixel (stuck on purple) and 1 dead pixel (stuck black) and I emailed OCUK to request a RMA to be told to that I can't have an RMA issued because there aren't enough faulty pixels on the monitor...

TV & Monitor Pixel Policy
Please be aware that all of our Suppliers and thus Overclockers UK conform to the ISO 13406-2 standard - the acceptable number of dead pixels based on screen size and resolution. Information on this can be found through any major search engine typing "ISO 13406-2" and the monitor brand name. Products with dead pixels of equal to or less than those defined within the ISO 13406-2 standard will not be accepted for return.

I am sorry if this causes a problem

Regards,

James B

Joy. So after 3 years of being a loyal customer to OCUK i've pretty much just been told to **** off and deal with it. Seriously ****ed off here.

Customer loyalty... not even worth anything anymore.

Don't RMA it, return it under the distance selling act (now called consumer contract regulations) as unwanted if it's within 14 days.

That sucks. I sent back 2 Samsung SA700Ds until I got one with no dead pixels, OCUK were great about it back then (must be 3 years ago or so).

I did mention DSR though I think

Was it sold as a class 1 or class 2 monitor?

I recently purchased a G-Sync monitor myself and ordered it from somewhere that checks for dead pixels before dispatching - admittedly this service has a cost attached but I'm happy to pay the £20 or so rather than get in a slanging match with a retailer :)

I know that doesn't help you as such, I feel for you :(

Hmmmm I've just bought the same monitor hope I don't have problems. It gets good reviews for what I could find on ocUK and elsewhere. I've bought mine from ocUK as they were the cheapest plus the free p&p

I'd pay that too. There's an Acer on the way to me and rather than being excited i'm worried what state it will be in when it arrives!

did ocuk not offer a checking service for a fee many moons ago?
