Deadliest Catch

It's likely that Murray will take over as full time captain until such a time as his sons are experienced enough to take over the day to day running, that being said, the Cornelia Marie is a bit of a dog of a ship and really is in need of a full refit.

A sad day though, Phil was a great man.

That has to be one of the stupidest things I have heard all day.

It is not about greed, they make a lot of money because the seasons are extremely short, and physically demanding (enough that most crews need 6 months to recover enough for the next year) they do it because its in their blood to do so.

Really, crawl back under your rock or something.

seen all the shows, love the series, sorta had a feeling he would have further issue's when he went back to work with all the stress and still smoking - think he manged to quit but all to late it would seem.

Murray retired in the last season. I think he runs a coffee shop in Arizona now.

I don't know, maybe he will come back up and skipper it? I like Murray he seems like a solid guy.

You know, I completely forgot about that, a shame really, as of the current crew, there is nobody that I would consider experienced enough to run a boat, I'd need to re-watch the second half of season 5 in order to say more about Steve (the new engineer), but I dont remember him making an impression. And if that's the case, then I fear we'll not see much of the Cornelia Marie this year.

Then again, seems that they've gotten an old friend, Derrick Ray, to take over as relief skipper. (Longtime friend of Phil's. Former crewman on the F/V Maverick, and owner of the F/V Siberian Sea).
