Random question, my car has deadlocking, which happens after the car is locked, so two locking sounds are heard. Am I right in saying that the deadlock prevents people simply smashing the window and unlocking the door? Therefore disabling the inside locks, or am I mistaken?

Cheers

thats how it works, deadlocking, you have to use the key/remote. The inside locks are disabled.

although it just tends to cause more damage to the car, as they'll simply prize the door open. Or rip the lock itself out.

correct.

deadlock a car so if the theif smashes the window you can't open it from the inside.

When I dead lock my car the horn gives a beep.

The real trick is not to stop the idiot getting into your car, it's to stop the idiot starting your car.

Just buy a car with a code-key system that doesn't just send a signal of +12V from the code ECU to the engine ECU (thank you France). Must be one where the master code is passed on to the engine ECU.
