It's been recently revealed that Deadpool will be coming to PC afterall, some of the best news this year!

Info:

Deadpool will be a spectacle fighter/third person action game that will be running on the Unreal Engine 3 (so you know it's going to run at like, a million FPS!). The dudes behind the recent, highly praised Transformer games are developing it and Marvel, Blizzard and Activision are doing the rest. Former Deadpool comic writer Daniel Way will be writing the script and story. Deadpool will be a combination of melee and shooting, with huge emphasis in Big Hammers, Sai Blades, swords and guns. Deadpool will frequently break the fourth wall and verbally interact with the player based on their skill and progress. For instance, in the options menu, he will begin to tap the glass of the television set, before asking, “Hey, got any girls in there?” Deadpool has the opportunity to directly address the player, where he tells them to press a certain button to do certain commands. When presented with the right combination of platforms, he wearily suggests new moves, such as the novel idea of ‘wall jumping’. Deadpool will be true to his name with brutal acts of violence mixed seamlessly with epic comic relief like yelling “No guts no glory!” when hanging from his entrails and so on.

Characters:

It will feature Deadpool himself (duh!)

haha cracking trailer, gotta love Deadpool !! just waiting for some trusted reviews.. oh and the news that RR is getting the movie sorted ;)

There are plenty on Metacritic, verdict is that the gameplay is passable and the story/humour is the selling point, what was to be expected really. :p

So the movie is a go? Ryan had better either accept never taking the mask off, or he'd better shave his hair off and get some make-up done to fit the role. Last thing we need is a fantastic/funny film ruined by a pretty boy actor who was afraid to get his hands dirty. :o

Hi
Has anyone see a cheap steam key for this?

thanks:)

Cheapest I've seen is £26, gonna hold off personally as I hear the game only has around six hours of a campaign.

Why all the hate? Game seems a lot better/harder than most single player rubbish.

This is truly awful :o The combat system and gameplay is just so bad....... if you love hordes of enemies being thrown at you and smashing 2-3 buttons non stop watching a guy take non stop knifing/stabbing and 200 bullets and then having to run away half the time to regen the health, rinse and repeat then it might be the game for you! :p

You don't know a single thing about Deadpool himself, do you? The fact the player can even die is turning Marvel canon right on its head. Also, if you're taking 'non stop' stabbings and 200 bullets, you should get off easy mode. ;)

Disgusting.

?

I do know deadpool very well ;) I am only a huge super hero/marvel/DC fanboy......

As I said, the game itself i.e. gameplay is **** but the script and deadpool himself etc. is superb. With regards to the regen comment, I know that deadpool can regen., however, with regards to this game, it gets tedious when you have hordes of enemies thrown at you (who take forever to kill.....), run in, throw out a 100 combo, run away, wait for regen, rinse and repeat.

Not talking about myself taking that damage, I am talking about the enemies taking that amount of damage...... You would think that they would be dead with a couple of shotgun blasts and 2 slices from my katana's but nope it takes way more to kill them....

Emulating a comic book game is always hard, though. From what I've seen the balance is nice, you can go on easy and get an authentic experience or go on hard for more of a challenging experience.

Isn't that what the majority of games are like though? Gears of War, Uncharted etc., its all about getting stuck in, doing as much damage as you can and getting out and away to get your health back (although it doesn't make sense the characters can do that in those games). At least with Deadpool it makes sense :p although tbh, the game should throw unpredictable and difficult enemies at you and let you survive with skill rather than the grind. I would place Deadpool in the spectacle fighter genre along with Devil May Cry etc. so really, they should have had less shooting enemies and more visceral melee combat, the dudes with machine guns can mow Wade down in 4 or 5 bullets on hardest, which does take from both gameplay and realism, he should be near bulletproof.

Gameplay looks solid though, no idea why people are complaining. The Last of Us is a good example, 100 ratings in reviews yet the game has zero innovation as far as gameplay goes, it's just solid. The combat is about as varied/innovative as Ninja Gaiden and you never hear anybody complain about that game. :p

By logic though, 6/10 is a fair score for the game... but that's a logical score, not a review score. We all know anything thats below 8/10 is generally panned as being ****. If a 5/10 is average, than 6/10 is decent, and that's what the game deserves.

True, the only super hero games that I have truly loved have been the batman games, most of the spiderman games and the punisher!

Spiderman started to suck after the PS1 generation though, but completely agree with Punisher, those executions were amazing!

Personally I don't like really hard games, to me it just isn't enjoyable experience, you just end up getting frustrated all for 5 seconds of relieve/satisfaction :p Hence why I always play on normal! :p I don't find the game difficulty to be a problem at all with deadpool, it just feels like a chore to play.

With the exception of spectacle fighters though, no single player game takes skill. So when a game like CoD keeps sending you back to the last checkpoint, don't be bothered about it just grind on until you get lucky, it's what games like those are designed to be like. You have games that take intelligence and knowledge like Dark souls, games that take luck and grinding like COD and games that take reflexes and skill like Devil May Cry.

Skill outside of multiplayer is pretty much confined to one genre.

Yes, but those are nowhere as bad from my experience, hardly ever had to worry about health and you could use cover etc. with those games, with deadpool, the guns are weak as **** and the only real way of doing damage (in a quicker way) is by using the melee/swords so you have no cover and have to keep doing, 50-100 combo, run, hide, wait every few minutes.

Probably not on easiest no, but in Gears of War/Uncharted for certain, you'd have a few seconds of shooting until your screen was bright red and you had to pop back in cover, same thing in this really (a mistake though, IMO, should be like Prince of Persia and just have Deadpool be unkillable). But it's nice from a pure gameplay perspective that they added in some actual difficulty. Disagree on the guns though, completely. I've played it round a mates and the guns are far, far stronger than melee, and that's on hardest. A headshot from the pistols will take the thugs out no problem, a charged up cable laser thing will one shot next to anything in the game from a headshot. The SMGs have enough firing speed to destroy groups and the shotgun... well that does suck! :D

The script, deadpool character, cut scenes etc. make this game, if it weren't for them, I would have stopped playing after 15 minutes! :p

To be expected though, really. :D

Now compared to similar games i.e. devil may cry, I enjoy them far more as they just feel better and do the combat system etc. a lot better imo. I personally don't think combat fighter style of gameplay was the right move for this game, a mix between the punisher and wolverine game (which I very much enjoyed, the combat/gameplay just felt better) is what it should have been imo. The damage system for both deadpool and the enemies needs to be adjusted as at the minute, the enemies can take far more damage than what deadpool can.......

Yeah I agree with that, it would have been very good if done right but it wasn't and is just run of the mill solid but not great as a result. Spectacle is the best genre for it, but if they can't nail that which they couldn't, it should have been... well idk tbh, given the fact DP is known for his sword/gunplay, a spectacle fighter seems like the only option. :p

Wolverine was a spectacle fighter though btw.

With regards to the last of us, haven't played it myself since I don't have a PS 3 :( but watched shosho's play through on youtube and the game looks phenomenal, not so much because of the gameplay (it looks solid though, bit of stealth, good gun play, survival system etc. it reminded me a lot of tomb raider) but because of the characters (the main star being Ellie), plot, script and especially the ending, it was truly special imo.

A very good game, but horribly overrated. Like you said though, solid gameplay + good story, similar to Deadpool. TLoU is an 8 at the most whereas DP is 6 for gameplay and overall a 7 imo.

As for ninja gaiden, been a long time since I have played that so can't remember it that well :o But I do remember getting frustrated with the combat system a fair bit! But everything else about it was great.

Average player of average skill couldn't get past the second stage on easiest from what I remember, that was probably it. :D

It is also disappointing that the graphics are pretty damn poor for a 2013 title.....

Console porting at it's finest.

Still, looks better than Skyrim did for it's time and you never hear a peep about the graphics in that. :D

The last few have been pretty damn poor, loved spiderman 1 and 2! Spiderman 3 and the newest one is "all right", not games that I rushed back to in a hurry :p

Can't remember which I played, think it was one where Stan Lee constantly narrated and you could use the Aunt May skin for spidey, that was my childhood! :D

Don't like spidey as a character though tbh, glad he's dead now! :D:D

True, personally I don't have much trouble with single player games at all these days, can play them just fine and will die/fail due to some grenade (COD..........) or a lousy QTE (tomb raider.........), as long as the game is good fun and holds my attention, all is good! :p Unfortunately there aren't many multiplayers for me aside from BF 3 (which I am not overly fussed on, only decent good MP FPS out at the minute though) /BC 2 being the main ones and then fun games/mods related to the source/half life engine/game.

Single player is for the story really, immersion or to pass the time. If you want a decent FPS online, you should have a look at Quakelive. :)

Hmm, then that might be why as I only have the pistol and shotgun at the minute! Pistol is fine when you get headshots but damn it is next to useless for any other shots :(

Pistols are for picking off pesky thugs with guns, SMG is for melee combat for mixups and the Cable rifles are boss killers, shogun is just ****. :D

Yup, it is absolutely amazing, just had to get my arm back from my dog! :D The lines/script is just superb, actually getting quite a few laughs from it.

Have only seen the section where you slap Wolverine to death and meet Cable, god it was funny! must have spent a good 5 minutes slapping that midget haha! :D

Indeed but it was done much better regarding the combat! :p Things that deadpool could have had:

- jump/lunge attack like in wolverine
- proper counter/block (very annoyed with the lack of this)
- wolverine could take significant damage (not so much at the start but with a few minor upgrades, it was much better)

DP does have a lunge, its his heavy attack, can be done in the air too. Deadpool isn't physically superhuman like Wolverine so he can't jump across a room, but you can teleport a good 5-10 meters to get into range and then lunge though, sort of works the same. :p

Have you not checked the personal upgrades Deadpool can have? Health upgrades etc. make him tough, and if you want to feel like Deadpool, crank the difficulty... down. :p

IMO the best game to date for combat are the batman games, imagine having that sort of combat with deadpool

The combat should suit the hero though, Batman is what his gameplay portrays him as with the methodical takedowns and intimidation factor to sit in the middle of a group and divide and conquer. Deadpool is a nutcase who goes banzai and hopes for the best and relies on his healing factor and unpredictability to come out on top, and that's what the gameplay allows you to do to a degree, but it could have been done a lot better.

Yeah I think it is a bit over rated too, if it weren't for the storyline etc. then it wouldn't have scored as highly. IMO deadpool gameplay system would get a 3 out of 10 and the script, execution would get an 8 out of 10.

3!? Hehe, I'd give it a 5, 7 for graphics and 10 for story, 7ish overall. :)

Been so long since I played it so can't even remember any of the missions in detail, the part that I recall of was some kung fu master boss guy up in a Japan sort of house in the mountains, that made me so mad! Must have been the hardest part of a game ever (on normal this was) :p

Sounds like the dude who killed Ryu's father, that was an extremely difficult fight though yeah.

Never played that and I would agree, the graphics aren't as good as what a lot make it out to be :p Although some of the landscapes/environments do look pretty good!

Yeah, it has a lot of Vistas and really nice environment which makes the visuals look nice, but lacked graphical fidelity thanks to DX9 limitations and whatnot. Mods for it are nice though, really bring it up to scratch.

@Omaeka

Hmm, don't know of that one! :p Sounds fun lol :D Never had a PS 1 though! First spiderman game (well had spiderman anyway) I recall of is this beast! :D

/youtubeclip

Might have to fire that up on my android phone actually! Was so epic and the music, oh my god, it is awesome

I like him a lot (loved the cartoon TV show in the 90's :o :p)

This one!

Oh man, this game had proper climbing mechanics before games were even games. :p Have never played that old one though, didn't game much on the SNES, only played Aliens & Terminator (god they were GOOD movie games, need more of those these days). Does look good though, I must say. :p

You did know Parker was dead right? Oh god I hope I haven't spoilt that for you, although it's been almost a year now. :p

Tried that but far too fast paced for me :o :p

Well Battlefield 3 is a good alternative, far better than CoD anyway hehe.

Hmm, will buy the SMGs next then and see how I get on! :)

Nooo, the SMGs are for hitting the knife guys when they block and picking off wounded enemies in the scrum but out of melee range, next guns you want are the Plasma rifle thingies, and upgrade them to have a charge attack, devastating.

haha that part was ****ing amazing! :D I kept slapping him till I couldn't any longer! Many more epic scenes with Cable!

Haha, it's such a little mini victory for Wade tbh, he's always being downplayed to make Logan look better to the fans. Cable is so perfect for Deadpool, complete opposite of him in every way, compliments his personality perfectly. :D

But it doesn't work the exact same way! :p He sort of lunges forward when you hit the heavy attack button, the way it worked in wolverine was great, lock on and hit a button and do a brutal attack, followed up with either another single heavy attack or a quick repeated punch in the face.

Gotta make do with what you have ;) hehe, but looking at the Gaiden gameplay below, Deadpool would have done a lot better to have been like that, rather than trying to double up as a third person shooter/hack & slash.

Yeah, have upgraded a fair few things including his health and it has helped somewhat but still not how he should be! :p Might put it down to easy too :o I want to actually feel invincible!

Well you know what to do then. :p

True, I only meant the actual fighting combat technique (not stealth etc.) and counter attacks, not in terms of the fighting style but how it works.

You know what Deadpool needs? A mechanic where he can take damage to give damage, sort of like a counter attack of sorts, like where he lets an enemy stab him and then you can do an ultra damaging counter while he's all off balance and shocked that Wade's just laughing it off etc, doing huge damage/killing him while the enemy is standing there holding the sword that's in Wade's belly, maybe even just a quicktime event (or maybe not :p) or animation. Taking damage really should give DP a massive benefit, it's what he does after all. Feels bland just having to stop damage and eventually die if you take too much.

Afterall, with Wolverine, the more damage he takes the more bloodlust he generates, with Deadpool, the more damage he takes, the crazier and less predictable he gets, they really needed to implement something to show that. He'll often jump on somebodies sword just to trap them! :D

Maybe a 4 at most then! :p It is just the combat, damage system that ruins it for me :( If they made it more like devil may cry and wolverine, it would have been up to a 7 at the very least then!

Once you've put it on easy it may score higher for what you want from the experience. :p

I think that the developers didn't want to make it a spectacle fighter on purpose, I think they wanted to escape it and give a more... eh, dumbed down experience I guess, something people can just pick up and play and get through, something to carry them through the story. Kind of a mistake in my opinion, but it's still not bad.

Can't even remember the names of the guys in that game lol! But I am 90% sure it was this guy!

/youtube clip

Never played Sigma, I thought you meant the dude in heavy armor on the top of an actual mountain from two. :o Hehe.

That looks mighty good/fun, especially for the time  Might have to see if I can get a PS 1 emulator or something now :p :D First spiderman game that blew me away was the first spiderman game on the xbox, it was a real game changer for me back then, the graphics were mind blowing back then too and you had Bruce Campbell narrating it.

Didn't even know there were any in that generation, thought Spider-Man had skipped it and came back this gen, might have to look that up.

Nah you didn't spoil it, read about it as soon as it was announced pretty much :) Although I had completely forgotten about it till you posted about it again :p Saying that, I am not a comic person so it wouldn't have really bothered me anyway! :p

IIRC they only killed him of in one of the generations though?

Yeah, Earth-1610 which is a spin-off universe he was a leading character of, the main series Earth-616 he doesn't get as much face time, and still won't. They only killed him off to generate an uproar in the community ready for when they bring him back later on to skyrocket sales. This stuff happens all the time in comics, DC have killed off Supes and Batman several times and each time, the comics they have returned in have been best sellers for that year, smart business! ;)

It is excellent that game and the spiderman missions weren't even the best ones! Cyclops and gambit had great bits. Wolverine was a bit bland/boring in that.....

Not sure if you can get SNES emulators but if I ever get round to one, I'll deffo have a look. :)

Yeah cable is perfect in this with deadpool, the part where he first comes into the game is superb and some more epic interaction/cut scene stuff :D Not say anything but here it is if you're interested

Was also an amazing scene with sinister, again here if you're interested:

Cable and Deadpool are a staple team-up now, have been together loads over the years and for good reason! This is just fan art but tbh it completely sums their relationship and comics up in a single image! :p

cable_and_deadpool_by_vulture34-d5efa6r.jpg

Think I'll save watching those though until I get it myself, with story being the only AAA factor. :(

TBH, going to have to put the script, execution etc. up to a 9 as it is just so damn good

Had they messed that up, even the most amazing gameplay couldn't of saved them. It's no wonder they actually got one of Deadpool's comic writers in to do all of it. :p

Indeed! If the combat was the same as ninja gaiden, oh my, it would have been epic and frustrating too so it would need to have been a bit easier as well! :p :D

It could have been like Devil May Cry, two super-easy modes for casuals and then several uber hard ones for hardcore players. Gaiden was extremely anti-n00b though haha, easiest in those games is beyond hard in most games. :p The latest one is complete and utter balls though, no idea what TN were thinking, they dumbed it down to be consumer friendly but took out any proper challenge. A same fate that so many people are worried will happen with Dark Souls 2 (even though the games aren't hard but meh :p).

That would be perfect if they did something like that, this game had so much more potential regarding the combat and deadpool! :(

Like somebody else has said, this was mostly just fan service with passable gameplay. They definitely could have done more with it, a hell of a lot more. Talented studio behind it too, but I'm guessing Activision got their noses in it and rushed it out the door too soon tbh.

What?! If you love spectacle fighter and especially challenging ones (that isn't just pure button smashing), then you will absolutely love that one! It was definitely one of the hardest games I have ever played. BTW sigma is the same as the version called ninja gaiden black afaik it is just named differently for the PS platform..... Quite confusing the naming of the series across the platforms actually!

I know of them dude :p I just hadn't played any in the genre except Devil May Cry up until this generation where I managed to get to the last few chapters on Master Ninja in Gaiden 2 and then snapped the disc. Not my finest moment tbh, but we've all had one! Haha!

IIRC it was one of the first games for the xbox, think I got it with a bundle of games when I bought the xbox. TBH, it is very similar in terms of gameplay mechanics as the one you played on PS 1 but much better graphics. There was another one called ultimate spiderman, personally didn't like that as much, however, it was more true to the comics overall. And of course spiderman 2, which was my favourite spiderman game.

Spider-Man 1 with better graphics? Sign me up. :p

SM2 was on the PS1, wasn't it?

Sounds like a good plan that! :p Didn't even know about SM and BM being killed of :o

Yeah :p Superman had a entire comic dedicated to his funeral and everything, was really, really sad the first time. The next times though, it was just expected. :p

You can, at least for android devices anyway, have a search in the play store/google and you should see lots of links ;) (emulator stuff isn't allowed to be talked about here so can't provide links/details etc. :()

Ah, well the SNES is discontinued and the games aren't exactly in production anymore so any emulation won't effect Nintendo or anyone else. :p

Rules are rules, though!

haha, that sums it up perfectly! Exactly what it has been like so far in this game between those two :D Is there a higher res. (1080P preferably) of that? :)

Will have a look! Nah, that's the biggest one. You can manually stretch it to 1280x720 from 1095x730 and then upscale it without much quality loss. Ask somebody who has Photoshop to help. :)

Tell me about it :o Many many nights of rage I had with that game..... Never played any others apart from the first though but yeah have read that they dumbed it down big time, especially with the 3rd one (watched one of the boss fights from it last night and it looked stupidly easy.....)

Ninja Gaiden 2 was more the same magic, just looked better and had awesome new mechanics like animation kills. You should try it but it's a 360 exclusive.

No doubt they would have pushed them to hurry up, like most publishers these days  Loved their transformers games (despite being pretty poor ports). Just read this too..........

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/398856/deadpool-studio-hit-with-lay-offs/

That's ****ed up. Activision, owner of Blizzard, see's a small amount of initial loss and lays those poor souls off! How do they know that the money they are 'losing' pre-sale won't be made back up post-sale. Small companies like High-Moon will usually fall slightly into the red between each game, because this and the next are there to put food on the table, not to make their accounts even bigger and bigger like major studios.

Lol I don't think I have gone that far now! Worse for me is full on smashing the controller into the couch :D :p

That poor thing, into the soft couch and everything! Do you have no conscious? (is that spelt right? :()

When you coming back to MH mate?

Surely you've overtaken me by now? :p

The spiderman film game, no, it was on the PS 2.

Film games have sucked since the early nineties! :D

haha might have to read up about that now. Loved superman doomsday cartoon film, although "technically" he didn't die in that :p

You read up on it yet? :p

Indeed :o Bit of a shame we don't get any games like them these days :(

We do, plenty of indie games have a retro feel with a nice updated look.

Will have a go with CS 6 and see what the outcome is like, thanks anyway :)

CS6? Counter-Strike? Those are still low skill FPS, twitch fps will always take much more than 'sims' and 'semi-sims'.

Hmm I might have to find a cheap copy then (got the 360 but it hasn't been used in a long time now :o :p)

Sure you could find that for a few quid these days. :p

Indeed, publishers are a joke these days, iirc it was the same with tomb raider (newest game) at the beginning, sales weren't what they expected so cut of any possibility of a sequel. However, I think they have changed their minds now that the game has sold pretty well and been highly rated everywhere.

Wow really? I thought Tomb Raider flew off the shelves. Better example is Dead Space, because number 3 only made EA a few million profit, they buried the IP. If a game makes you a penny profit, then that's surely good right? Let alone tens of million, I just guess they aren't happy with less than 9 figure profits for a few years work.

hehe :D Better than smashing it against the wooden floor or worse! :p

Don't be silly! I'd rather be smashed against the floor than my sofa, although tbh, I have what is most probably the least comfortable sitting furniture on the planet. :D

Not all of them! :p

Name me 3 in the last 10 years that haven't. :p

Spiderman 1 and 2 were surprisingly good but then I was younger back then and very much into gaming..... :p

Casual. ;)

Yup! Read about it here and had a look at some comic pages via google images :p One of the deaths (by Doomsday) is pretty much this cartoon film

Batman had the best death, he was completely disintegrated by Darkseid and sent into a parallel universe, he still managed to get back though despite not technically having a body to come back to... Batman eh. :p

I can never find any good ones though! :p :o Got any links to sites that list the best indie games?

Aye mate, a pretty comprehensive list here. ;)

Lol no! Adobo photoshop CS 6! :p On the topic of it, I suck big time at it :o Only servers I ever played were the RPG/upgrades surf maps :D

You should play some DayZ! Maybe not wait until the standalone though, but if you already have ARMA 2, try here http://cpc-gaming.eu/ they are very polite & a lot of fun. :)

Yeah it seems to be going for about £5-8 currently, won't buy it just yet as I still have quite a few games to get through on the PC

Don't think it'll drop any lower so you may as well :p cracking game though, harder than Black by quite abit. Worth it though, actually feels satisfying to get through tough bits though.

Sorry got some of the tomb raider sales stuff mixed up, it did sell well (at least in mine and loads of other peoples opinions), however, square enix didn't think it was good enough, sold 3.4 million in the first month, they were expecting it to sell 5-6 million units in 4 weeks  And Square Enix president Yoichi Wada stepped down due to the "poor sales", wtf?! To even sell more than a million games in the first month would have been consider a HUGE success a few years ago, something that not many games could accomplish except for things like the COD series.........

And yup perfect example there with dead space 3, although they shot themselves in the foot with the build up to release for PC i.e. micro transactions, it will be the same experience as it is on the consoles etc. saying that the game was better than expected, certainly better than what EA & Visceral were making out :p

Did Yoichi Wada go out back and commit seppuku? Haha, that makes no sense! Why would he step down over that, 3.4 in a month is gigantic, I know games have come a long way but in the past 7 or 8 years or so, the prices for creating games hasn't changed much, that's a ton of profit right there! That's well over 130 million... :(

Lol, they downplayed their own game? It's such a shame, loved that series. :(

hehe :D Our couch is stupidly soft and sinks down a fair bit when some weight/force is applied :p

All I'm picturing now is a tempur memory foam sofa, the thought is tickling me in places I didn't know I have! :D

BTW bought the plasma rifles last night and they are stupidly good! Don't find/get much ammo for them though so will need to upgrade that........

Yeah they are amazing guns, ammo shouldn't be so bad though. You just have to resist using them on everything that moves and save them for the tough enemies, reminds me of the BFG in the Quake campaigns. :)

hmmm, there aren't many! :p Only one I can think of so far is chronicles of riddick (although it wasn't exactly based on the film story/plot :p), most of the good ones came before that.

Like Terminator/Aliens.

Oh! That sounds like a good death, have to read up on it now too! :p Batman is epic!

You might want to watch Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Absolutely amazing anime. :D

cheeky ****! :p Tried that before but could never see much that tempted me :( Will have a look again later.

FTL is about as retro as it gets, if you haven't tried that, do!

Had a look at dayz but it doesn't look like my type of game, too much camping and too much running around only to get killed by some recon/sniper! :p Might give it a try when the standalone version is out......

It depends on what side of the dice you place yourself on. Go to the low population areas and gear up very slowly and then stick to the trees and stay out of the cities, you'll soon find yourself sniping groups of bandits.

Now you have gone and put me of the game, I found the first one hard enough! :o

Pfft, stuff like this builds character! :p

Yup that does not make any sense at all :p No idea, game developers and publishers have just become incredibly greedy in the last few years :( No longer seem to care about what the community "really" wants, all they care about is profit now! Thankfully though it seems that DICE have actually listened to what we want fixed/removed/added for BF 4.....

For the PC version they did anyway in the sense that it put more or less everyone of the PC version with the way they were talking and treating the PC community.

And Mirror's Edge 2, cannot forget that. Biggest EA game for me, cannot wait. :D

Yup, only using them for the tough big guys now, have upgraded deadpool and the guns so I get some more ammo. I will put the gameplay up to a 5 now as it has got a wee bit better with more/better upgrades/weapons and slightly varied a bit further in. Said it before but I'll say it again :p The script, deadpool character, execution is more or less perfect and all of that makes the game fun and rather unique. If they just nailed the combat and damage system plus had better graphics, I think this would have been an excellent game overall.

Graphics are just down to it being this gen tbh, not many games look better than Deadpool on the console, the only games that look good are on PC like Crysis, they still look terrible on consoles. I guess they just didn't put any extra work into upping the graphics for PC, pure port. :p

Seen it! (And pretty much every other batman/superman cartoon film :p Most of them are better than half of the big Hollywood films released these days........ :p) And it was absolutely epic! Wasn't too fussed on it going by the trailer at first though....

"Remember who it was that beat you.", "They sent you after me, who are they going to send after you?". Goosebumps wasn't the word when that happened. Epic fight! :D

Hmm, I'll give it a look when the standalone version is out, will have to join those players on that site you mentioned as it doesn't seem like it would be much fun by yourself.

Hell yeah, when I go back to DayZ it's where I'll be! :)

Unfortunately yup! :( And HMS did the exact same with the transformers games (first one was probably the worse port ever, 30FPS lock, no settings apart from 2 [same for deadpool iirc], couldn't change key bindings at all amongst other things.....) Don't get me wrong now, the graphics are decent, certainly passable but it would have been nice for some improved textures etc. for the PC, I would say it looks slightly better overall compared to their latest transformer games. Currently using a sweetfx config which sharpens it a bit and adds more clarity, enhanced colours etc.

I think developers need to wake up and smell the coffee. Games really don't 'undersell' on PC, the good games sell millions and millions on this platform, like Skyrim, Deus Ex, Battlefield etc. and 1 million sales is as much profit as 1 and a half, maybe even 2 million sales on the consoles, because on PC it's all profit, for consoles it's mostly physical retail which costs a bomb to manufac/transport and distribute, Steam etc. give developers 70+% of every penny in pure profits. They need to put more into the platform, sick of these rubbish ports!

SweetFX is amazing, it's pretty much compatible with any game! :D

Indeed, it was amazing! Might actually have to watch it again, only seen it twice so far. Another superb batman cartoon film is batman: under the red hood.

Only watched it twice? :p It is amazing to be fair, the voice acting on the gang members was so cringe, slicin' and dicin' oh yea! Haha! Had a kind of charm to it though!

Exactly! Tired of seeing companies like Ubi and Crytek going on about piracy on PC and how easy it is etc. yet the consoles are just as bad and in fact just as easy as it is on the PCs, also just because people pirate doesn't mean that they don't end up buying the game as well, know of a few who download just so that they can have a "demo" (due to lack of demos of PC these days....) or/and because they want to avoid the DRM crap.

Almost everyone I know on PC pirate first for a demo. If they gave demos with releases the piracy 'figures' would drop pretty drastically. We don't even need demos to see if a game is good per se, It's more hardware issues than anything else. Making games for PC they should know that, many games I've bought on a 3570k and a 670 and had pretty bad performance issues where as friends I know have like 480s and 4850s and Phenoms and what not (not bad rigs! but pretty far below my own) have no issues and it's kind of annoying tbh, especially when you go out and pay full premium on a title. They just need to see that, and give us a little respect!

Yup, I love it, use it on every single game now, amazing how much better a game can look with a few tweaks. I am using this one for deadpool.

Skyrim. Never before have I seen a game benefit from SweetFX quite like Skyrim does, with the right mods it's the best looking game on the planet right now even if it does perform rather badly even on strong rigs it's usually worth it! :D

Oh, and for the sake of not going off topic!

Second one always cracks me up! :D

The animated superman/batman films usually always have epic voice actors and a superb script  Kevin Conroy = the best! Although I thought Peter Weller did a pretty damn good job in TDKR!

But yup that line was pretty cringe worthy :p

Gonna have to have a look into Marvel & DC anime me thinks, have you seen Wolverine vs Hulk? It's only 30 minutes long but it's awesome and has a lot of Deadpool! Iron Man: Rise of the Technovore is awesome too, it has Norman Reedus voice Frank Castle, it's so epic! (It was directed and produced by a Japanese company though so most characters are all anime and gay and whatnot, Frank's got a bit of an emo haircut going on etc.) :p

Indeed, there needs to be more open betas these days for the PC platform due to what you said, although saying that, most of the time that doesn't even help i.e. DICE and BF games! :o :p I noticed the same since I got my 7850, had no problems with some games i.e. batman arkham city on my 4850 512MB yet as soon as I put the 7850 2GB in, I encounter a few niggles with only some games i.e. the stuttering that everyone had with BAC even when DX 11 etc. is turned of..... not a single problem on my 4850 512MB and that was maxed out apart from the DX 11 and physx.....

Exactly, in their defence though it's usually driver issues but a few games have deep rooted problems on some of the best hardware. I think it's more a cater to the masses kind of thing though as I'm willing to bet more people have 4xxx range GPUs than 7xxx range. :p

It is a shame that more effort isn't put into the PC titles, kind of sad how the first crysis is still one of the best looking games overall with amazing physics etc.

Hmm I dunno, quite a few games have blown it out of the water by now. Crysis level of graphics is getting to be the norm (although it's 5 years too late!) with games like Tomb Raider and Hitman starting to become the 'average' when it comes to graphics. Then there are games like Far Cry 3 and Metro 2033 + Last Light that roflstomp it. :p

The modded skyrim shots do look very good  Shame it isn't my type of game :( I will eventually try to give it a shot though, just need to complete these other games first.

Skyrim is a pretty sweet game in terms that everyone can find a use out of it depending on what they want from a game in general. Meta-game, roleplaying, immersion, tons of different play-styles. With mods on top of that, the right research into the core game and into the mods on offer you'll find something to enjoy, even if you hate games like it. It's just a matter of patience. :p

haha great ones there! :D

And keeping on topic....

Completed the game the other night, gameplay got a bit worse near the end (came to the point where they were just throwing tons of tough guys and enemies at you just for the sake of a big end battle) and the ending was rather lacking tbh.

SHORYUKEN! :D

I think it's gonna be quite a while until I get around to it tbh, smart move right now would be to Wade (lol :p) through the 190+ backlog of games in my library before even bothering to get anything else.

With the Steam sale coming up soon though, I doubt that'll last long. :D
