Is my 7800gt meant to be this loud??? I have had it for a 2-3 months now and everytime i even scroll down on the mouse it clicks. It gets really noisy in css and in age of empires 3 it sounds like a 50cc scooter. Starting to really bug me now.

well tbh my xp-120 is louder than the fan, its just the godforsaken clicking noise that happens everytime a movie is playing or a game is playing or even when a page in firefox is loading.

Sounds odd, you sure it is the gfx card causing this?

The FX5800 & FX5900 (I'll go and wash my mouth out with soap and water for even mentioning them :o ) used to click when scrolling pages etc. but I haven't heard of the problem on the 7xxx series

yea its definitely the gfx card thats doin the clicking, the noise just cant be coming from anywhere else. There is no clicking before i install *** gfx drivers, but as soon as i install the driver, it clicks away.

Well....guess what.

I am getting a similar problem!

I haven't used the sound hardly since doing some upgrading but today noticed a humming noise when I scroll/ page loads/ HDD is used etc.

Faint luckily but definitely a slight annoyance with head phones on.

Luckily I only use sound and headphones for gaming and a quick blat inHL2 proved it not to be a problem.

I am thinking my on board sound may be the underlying issue and will try out an old PCI card when I get the chance. :)

Dont even have a phone line option in my sound options and everything is shown. The sound only appears when i install the gfx drivers, even older drivers cause the same problem, i formatted the pc bout 3 times to make sure i wasnt doin anything else that was causing it.

It was the "Line In" option that cured it for me. :)

i think i use to get a noise when i was scrolling on web pages with my old Leadtek GeForce 6800LE..
