Again probably a basic question but something I dont know and dont want to look a tit over.

Its based on an example as follows:

I find a car on Auto Trader, for purposes lets say im after a Q7 and the car I notice is in stock at a Audi Dealership in Stockport... x100 miles away from me.

If I go into my local Audi Dealership and said, the cars you have are good but not me, however there is one in a Audi Dealership in Stockport that I do like and has all the spec I want... would they then source that in? Does it push the cost up? Or is that me just being optimistic and my local dealer would just say tough?

Also lets say the car I like is in an Independent dealership, like Mikes Motors of Motherwell or something, im assuming the local dealership would have nothing to do with it... or would they?

Im asking as im seeing a lot better spec/priced cars on Auto Trader that are at either other Audi dealers or Independent dealers for example, that I dont really want to have to travel 400 miles for. Maybe im expecting to much, but as it stands I could be waiting ages for my local Audi to get in the spec I want :(

Your Audi dealer will likely source you another car from within the group.

This.

If its outside the group, they'll need to buy it, trade, from the other dealer group, and then sell it to you. This introduces somebody elses profit margin into the deal.

Just drive 100 miles to the other dealer.
